*Walks into room*
It’s been well over a year since I last came on the site. It looks wonderful. You’ve all done a lot of great things and it shows. I’m happy to be returning to the site, and this awesome community. I wanted to share a bit of my story with all of you. Mostly because I think it’s good lessons learned and good lessons still to be learned.
In 2018 I attempted suicide. Failed obvi. But I decided that I was overwhelmed by work, and my social life. I dropped a LOT of the things that we’re taking up my time. Unfortunately, being a moderator on this site was one of those things. Being as I find it very hard to take steps back; the only way to do so was to leave the site entirely.
I reached out. I spoke up. It was very hard, and it was very time consuming. There were days that I felt worse than ever before and regretted having ever said anything. But as time passed and continues to pass, I realize that allowing myself to be flawed and human; and dropping the expectations I set for myself was the healthiest thing I’d ever done.
My point here is to say. If you start to feel overwhelmed, it’s okay to take breaks and it’s okay to prioritize yourself.
Happy Holiday webDip,
It’s good to be home.

Welcome back, commander. You aren't alone, and your openness can be, I hope, an encouragement to others.

It's good to see you back again!
People struggling with similar issues can hopefully gain strength from your post. We should however all look in the mirror from time to time and wonder whether we're not setting too high expectations for ourselves as well. It's always easy to think it won't happen to you, until it does.

It may be that no one has shared this yet, but we have been able to incorporate jmo's consciousness into webdip. You can now play against AI bots.

I’m concerned about society every time I log into this forum. And the bots are the least of it.CommanderByron wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 3:51 amI noticed one is named Skynet does this not worry anyone?

Welcome back CByron.
It's wonderful to see you here (for the first time, for me) and I appreciate your bravery and your sharing your reality-check with us all.
I look forward to chatting with you more around the site or the server - or at the very least watching your play with omniscient interest when the 30th (finally) rolls around.
Merry Christmas!
