Yep, same here - mainly western concert, but I've dabbled with various bamboo ones, including homemade ones that were terrible lol
Homemade That's interesting
Oh, gold/gold alloy headjoints are fun to play (you feel very shiny while doing so XD, not to mention sound), but my favourite was when I got to try a platinum one (Powell iirc).Vaporwave wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 1:53 amHomemade :o That's interesting
I've had the chance to use a gold one many times (probably gold combined with something else), I felt a bit fancy
Keep in mind that I'm not a professional, playing an instrument was part of my curriculum requirement
Was it hard learning how to play the piano?
Ooh nice. Honestly, great kudos to you and everyone else in this thread (looking at Mr. Green here) who composes, having tried it it's a lot harder than people would expect, especially if you want to create something others would enjoy listening to :DWyattS14 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 5:12 amAww haha. I convince myself that my only fan is my possibly intoxicated mother in the comment sections of my videos, but it’s good to hear that I gave at least a little bit of an impact in people. And yes, EMC, I did post a similar thread of talents in general, I was more curious of the musical background specifically here, as I knew there was some from BB and others in the old poetry thread. If anyone’s curious, I have been working on some new stuff as I learn more complicated music theory (I’m a freshman in college pursuing a music performance major in trumpet, though I post mainly piano)
Here’s a recent piece I threw together last week

Ah, you got to use a platinum Powell one, that's nice. Also from your answers, I get the impression you were really enjoying it.e.m.c^42 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 2:54 am

Holy shit, from control over sound to dynamics range to just the tone - it was just an experience. I'll probably never get the chance to play one again lol, considering the sheer price on those.
not to mention, haven't played for almost a year now
Piano wasn't difficult, but that's probably because it was learned while young - I actually quit piano for flute haha, since my hands were too small to successfully play pieces after a certain level.
Why'd you choose flute, out of all the other instruments? (as it was a requirement)
OH THE PRACTICE TIME IS BRUTAL. I’m expected 8-12 hours a week and towards the end of every semester we’re all bombarded in recitals and concerts. It’s funny you ask about recordings, because the main reason I haven't recorded trumpet is because it’s hard to record brass due to the high impact/volume.e.m.c^42 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 3:25 amOoh nice. That being said, I don't envy at all how much time you must practice, haha
(especially as a performance major).
Do you happen to have any recent trumpet pieces you're willing to share, by any chance?
What do you mean? :)
