Add a filter option so one can easily find their favorite map and/or mode. Eg gunboats -> list all gunboats.

Maybe with a save button so your presets gets saved.

You can already do this via the search options:

The "Variant" field lets you pick which map you want to search for.

To filter for gunboat / non-gunboat, use the "messaging types" tick boxes.

Thanks I did not know that. It would be nice to have it on the open and new page too.

If you only want to see new games, select "Pre-Game" in the first search field.

There is also a filter for "joinable games".

Point is - what you're asking for is already provided

But why then have tabs to show new and open games if you can already select it in the search page? If I want to look for a new game my first thought is to click on 'new games' to look for a suitable game than to go to 'search game' which include every game (and I didn't even notice this tab)

Start from the home page. Where will you click if you want to join a new game? I always clicked 'games', 'new' which directed me immediately to all new games. So 2 clickw and a descriptive menu item name.

The other method is clicking on 'search' 'games', also 2 clicks but then you need to enter the new games filter and click on filter, so extra clicks.

Yes but you were asking for functionality to be able to narrow down a search for new / open games by map or press type.

That functionality already exists as I have pointed out.

You would need "extra clicks" anyway even if the filters, that you are asking for, existed, because you'd need to click to turn those filters on or off.

In a functionality point of view it does not make sense to omit the filter from the new games and open games page. (in my opinion)

I also made the feature request before I knew of the search page, admins can close this thread if they see fit.

We do have the search feature but I think it's a valid point that joinable games aren't as prominent / easy to get through as I'd like. I'd also say the active games should be more prominent
