AI discussion forum

#1 Post by ShipOfTheseus » Fri Feb 10, 2023 9:35 pm

I would like to propose that there should be a forum area for discussion about AI diplomacy. Bug reports go here, but I was thinking about a broader place where these conversations might go. I've been playing a lot against the AIs and thinking a LOT about the implications of what we're learning here (amidst all the generative art and Chat GPT stuff that seems to have taken over the discourse.)

I would pay attention and probably contribute.

It appears there are some different threads on AI/bot diplomacy - do you mean an entire new forum title? I love playing the bot games but biggest weakness is developers programmed strategy of Italy attacking Austria in 80% of openings which is not normal activity in live or gunboat games.

Normal activity in live and gunboat games is for italy to get to four centres, then do nothing and wait to die. Would you rather it did that?

I find the Ita/Aus alliance to be quite successful in gunboat and press games.

I would like it if there a was separate forum topic for discussion about the bots on this site, present and future.
