Why does the world map contain this mis-spelling?

Can it be corrected please?

Why does the world map contain this mis-spelling?
It was a mistake intentionally left there by the craftsman because to strive for perfection in the face of God would be to make a mockery of His work.
Can it be corrected please?
It can, but doing so might invoke His wrath, so we must tread carefully.
