No mod response
I sent the mods a message about a user breaking Rule 2 with all the info and links etc a week ago and then sent a follow-up e-mail 2 days ago and still haven't heard anything back.
In my experience the mod team has always been super responsive and on top of things which leads me to think there might have been some break down in communication or some spam filter maybe? If anyone has some insight into what happened, I'd love to know.
The compromised games are still on going which is frustrating because the situation has had a serious impact on the game (and there are several other games at play as well that I'm sure are being effected).

Re: No mod response
I also recently sent an email to the mod team about a game in which we needed a replacement player, and I never received a reply. Just wanted to point out that it is not an isolated incident.

Re: No mod response
I also had many games stuck on paused and it took two weeks to get a mod response. Again, not an isolated incident.
Also btw what's Rule 2? No having multiple accounts in a game?

Re: No mod response
Interesting, glad to know I'm not alone? Concerned that it seems to be a problem site-wide.
Rule 2 is no metagaming, playing games with people you know outside the game. It really ruins the experience of a game (and kills any desire to play games here) if people are friends IRL and agreeing to work together and ally with each other regardless of situation. Not really fair or fun.

Re: No mod response
I haven't been a mod for many years, but they *are* all volunteers, modding in their free time. A week or two seems reasonable to me (although I understand it's frustrating)

Re: No mod response
There are not any active mods currently, volunteering is unfortunately down significantly these days. I have addressed that game though.

Oh goodness, I didn't know that. Maybe I should look into what that role is to see if I can help!jmo1121109 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 24, 2022 11:56 pmThere are not any active mods currently, volunteering is unfortunately down significantly these days. I have addressed that game though.

I left the site a few years ago and only came back today to see if things got better
Was really frustrated with meta gamers and people with multiple accounts. Hope this is solved
Site seems much much quieter though?!?

I don't know what the requirements are (and I doubt I fill them), but I'm sure there are people who would be willing to step up and help out if the opportunity were open.
I suspect it was a bit easier to find the right folks when forums were still active, though.

Re: No mod response
For me, our game has been paused since before Christmas, and I was winning! Dang it, that never happens, and it is paused. I wanted my coins.
I asked the mods to unpause a few times, and no response.

I certainly won't be thanking Maniac for what's now apparently a highly appreciated and respected task.

Re: No mod response
im sure there are a few of us that would happily volunteer.
Be good to hear from Mods as to what the gap analysis is.... do they need 1 volunteer to help mod or 10?

Hey JF1981, trying to figure that out at the moment. We've got a new helpdesk system set up at help.webdiplomacy.net that we're trialing, which currently listens to [email protected] , but still investigating. Appreciate those who are offering to help also.
