[ACCEPTED] We should have +1s again .. or should we?

The emptiness in my soul needs filled with something intangible and meaningless, how am I suppose to feel accomplished if I don’t have anonymous people clicking buttons to show their support for my attempts at general comedy and broadly comical rhetoric? This is an outrage.

If I may make a suggestion:
Bring back +1s
Make +1s convert to ; are arbitrary anyway so if we have like 15 +1s equal 5 then that’s a 3:1 ratio and fairly simple to maintain.
Make +1s a metric by which you restrict games. I.E “Only players with more than 250 +1s may join this game”
On a post give 3 +1 options:
-Neutral +1
-Playdip +1 (cause +1 inflation and destroy their economy)
-Tide Pod +1 (Everytime you get a TP +1 the community donates a tide pod to an overly socially aware teen with lack of parental guidance)

I'm new here, so I don't know why they went away (or if by stating this I'm about to start a flurry of angry posts).

Personally I support removing features from the forum. Nothing good comes out of posting on it and without the motivation of +1s I can only bring myself to do it when it's personally amusing.

This is going to be controversial, but I think it's an improvement not to have them.

At first I missed them, but then I realised I was trolling less in the strategy forum without +1s as approval. Perhaps they reduce the number of troll comments?

Here's how I see it.
I love writing and sharing my writing on Web Diplomacy, and people don't always respond to it, which is fine, however, people used to leave plus ones for me, which let me know that people liked it. Since the new forum came along, I've become very discouraged to share my writing because I don't get anything to let me know how people feel about what I'm writing.

Sorry if this comes off as whiny, but it's just how I've viewed the +1 system after the update.

I think it's just a global topic, so it appears in every forum. Kestas might have done that when he made the poll.

I assume if Kestas decided to turn this into a poll and make it global that he has an idea in mind for adding +1's back, so I would take it seriously and vote what you'd like to see.

Okay I've added a karma extension and tweaked it to work with our template. Do we definitely want +1 and not a thumbs up or love heart? I think the + may be confusing.

At the moment, when I +1 a post that doesn’t yet have a +1, it displays the number of +1s as NaN. This happens whether a user’s karma is 0 or positive. Refreshing fixes it.

I could see a +1 icon working but the + is perfectly fine as well. The most glaring annoyance to me is that the number of +1s is smaller than the +1 icon. That might keep me up at night.
