This site needs -1 feature
Re: This site needs -1 feature
I respectfully disagree. "Downvotes" is a lazy "feature" that adds *nothing* to a discussion. If you disagree with someone's ideas, quote and write down your reasons.
"Upvotes" by contrast is a more passive and harmless action, since you do not wish to change the post as its ideas go meet your own. But if you have a different opinion, you ought to *write down this difference*, and explain *why you think you are right and the other guy wrong (or not so right)*.
Otherwise, rather than promoting good discussions and the exchange of points of view, people will hide behind these buttons... I can't see how that can be a good thing.

If so there should be a dislike button, which doesn't affect the +1s and allows you to show your negative feelings without being seen

Nah, if I think someone's idea is dumb I'll just tell them. I don't need a -1 button to do it. Speaking of which. This isn't a good idea for the reason Enriador gave.

Legitimate concerns aside, Zultar would never risk letting us undo all of his efforts to accumulate the NaNs.
Re: This site needs -1 feature
Going by the tenor of this discussion, you should be glad there isn't such a feature OP, or you'd be getting a lot of -1s :D

Instead of adding downvotes, upvotes should be calculated using sum-of-squares.
