Last time, yes.
Now, no...
When I click on your webDip profile it still says:

"Banned by a moderator: multi/meta/no reply"

I assume that simply hasn’t been updated since you say you are in the clear, good look in the tourney, will be fun to see how everyone does!
The way site bans work is that they change your profile description to the ban reason - if you get unbanned you have to change this back manually on the account Site Settings page.

I can confirm svkrIs is still in the tournament!

The coin flip on first and second is mainly meant to try to speed up the rounds, since another game being played can add a lot of time. If people feel strongly about it I can change that (technically I'm not supposed to but the mods only skim these threads ;) ).

The main thing I feel strongly about is appreciation for meme and his efforts to *gift* us this tournament, very much appreciated captain!

I’m a tinkerer so I like to think about things. Personally, I wouldn’t add a playoff game for Spring 2020 (something to consider for Fall 2020! 😁), but I do think adding in the head-to-head tiebreaker, while a change, is in the spirit of what’s been thoughtfully put together already, so I’d lean towards doing that, but in the end I’m 100% supportive of whatever meme decides.

Within these groups, each player will play the other twice (once as France, and once as Austria). These games will be played simultaneously. A win will be worth 3 points, a draw worth 1 point, and a loss worth nothing.
I don’t understand the scoring on the chollenge site. When I read the scoring rules above, it seems clear that six total games will be played in the first round of the tourney, so if you win all your games, you should score 18 points total. On the chollenge site, it appears things are being scored based on pairs of games, and thus 9 points is a perfect score? If so, there is no differentiation between two losses (0-2-0) and a loss and a tie (0-1-1), both of those count as zero if scored as a pair of games...

An example for when it would matter is if player #1 wins all six games, player #2 and #3 each win one when they play each other, then player #2 beats player #4 twice while player #3 wins one and ties one against player #4. Should player #2 advance immediately or should a tiebreaker game be played between player #2 and #3?

You may not change it. :-)

I'm presuming that challonge either isn't set up to fully validate a double round robin, or (likelier) that captainmeme used a simplified entry process of just one "matchup" between pool members so he could have less stuff to have to put in.

I’m truly ignorant on the matter... I’m confident in the real CL that with four teams they play each other once, so if the point is to mimic the real thing directly I could see there being no differentiation between 2-0-0 and 1-0-1, both are wins, but in the interest of avoiding tiebreaker games extending the tournament I can see the argument to differentiate... Just looking for clarification out of curiosity...

Nope, they play each other twice, but each game is counted separately (in the group stage).

The way I interpret the rules, in MMs scenario, player #2 moves on. Here is the relevant rule:

I can only interpret this as that the two games we played against one opponent are counted separately. Which also mean that the score entered in Challonge is incorrect... CptMeme?

Interesting. I assumed it was like the World Cup.

I'm using Riot's original ruleset for this with some modifications, but for the most part keeping it the same. Group stage scoring is something I didn't change, and you can check previous Challonges to see that it was handled the same way there.

The 'win', 'draw', and 'loss' this rule refers to is about the set as a whole, not the individual games in the set. So 1-0 (a win and a draw) is treated the same as 2-0 points-wise, 3 points either way.

In the 2018 edition, im pretty sure each player fought for 18 points, what a quick research confirmed.

Huh, I stand corrected. I completely missed the extra column on the page.

I'm going to go see if I can figure out how to correct this on this year's Challonge.

All games have indeed concluded! I'm updating the challonge bracket now but it might take a little while, I need to re-enter most of the earlier matches since I changed the way the scoring works in the settings.

It makes no difference, Meme, since only 2 games ended in draw and these don't affect the standings inside each group.

It’s pretty cool to have the first round in the books before the end of April, historically Spring signups start in May so we’re well ahead of schedule! 😁

Thinking about the recent Earth Day banner on webDip, I like the idea of starting TCL Spring and Fall tournaments on the equinoxes, which would give us the best chance to crown a champ during each respective season, or at least start signups on the equinoxes...

Thanks to Meme for bringing this excellent tourney back to life, it’s a lot of work and your efforts are much appreciated!

The Challonge has been fully fixed, and the next matchups determined! Things to note:

Foxcastle has won the Group B tiebreaker by dint of a tie being awarded to France, which I have not represented on the Challonge in terms of points but is represented by Foxcastle progressing to the next round.

Mhsmith won the coin toss for advancing as first seed from Group G.

PMs will be going out later today!
