Announcing the 2018 GvI and FvA Showdowns

Quick question for those of us who planned quite terribly for this, if we don’t have the 5 Webdip points how should we make the games? I have a couple that should be over soon and will be able to make my games within the 10 day period.


Also, the getting help from mentors thing Doesn’t really feel comfortable to me. As someone without a mentor (though taking applications now) it seems like I’m playing against two people instead of one.

Given that I will lose to Sereginss, you should probably talk to him. However, if by some miracle I do win I will happily accept any support I can get.

How does one look easily to all the games in this tournament?

I usually have a spreadsheet available which gives links to every game, but right now that sheet is not very polished and has the passwords of every R1 game written on it, so I won't be releasing it until a bit later :)

@Taylornottyler, sorry it took me so long to see this! I will give points to anyone who needs them for tournament games.

Just getting the last first-round FvA Sets going now - there are only 3 sets that have not yet been set up.

Starting two tournaments at the same time turned out to be way too ambitious, so I've held off on getting people to set up their GvI sets for the time being. Instead, I'm setting the official start date for the GvI Showdown (at least, when I send out all the PMs about setup) to be Thursday 25th January.

How does one look easily to all the games in this tournament?

Is just looked for ongoing or finished a/f games sorted by newest start date. There’s a decent stack of tourney games more or less all in a row.
