However, teams may refer to how other teams are standing on the scoreboard, or are predicted to be standing based on guesses of identity, and make strategic, team-wide decisions on that basis

Re: 2018 World Cup
Teams were able to make strategic decisions without knowing the identities of others. You can read as much in the global post-game chat. If your team is fighting for second place, and there's another player out there who is absolutely refusing a certain size draw, you can be relatively certain about which team they are. The type of metagaming that happened is exactly the type I explicitly allow for in the rules

I mean, meta *has* to be a thing in this tournament. You need to know how many points your team needs to advance

But I don't want it non-anon because then it can too easily devolve into "Shoot, Brazil is doing well in that game. I better punish the Brazilian player in mine" which is *NOT* what I want.
Re: 2018 World Cup
So you do realize that it's not fair that some teams will know who everyone is and some won't? The team that won last time knew who was who in their fucking *gunboat* games just by creeping when everyone was online

Re: 2018 World Cup
Roles will not be known beforehand by anyone other than me. I'm about to clarify that in the other thread. That would mean someone has to creep through about 25 profiles to figure things out. This should hopefully decrease this activity.

Pride’s everything.
How do we feel about rebranding this next year as the “2019 Cascadia Classic”? Think it over.
