Re: ODC 2019 Tournament Start
Thank you both, my goodness DougJoe - that is some commitment to follow, I think all of us in game gave up hope of seeing an end at one point or another so well done to you. Well, it's a lot easier to spectate than to play... all the players are to be commended for playing as long as they did! I th...

Re: ODC 2019 Tournament Start
Wow, it's finally over! Been watching the final game for quite a while... can't wait to hear thoughts on the final game if the players are willing to share.
Congratulations Brumark!

Re: Ezio (as Austria) vs Bots - New Video Playthrough
Haven't finished watching the video yet, but enjoying it so far. When playing the bots, I like to leave the preview up as it will show the results of the moves shortly after clicking Ready without having to reload the page - you know, just so I can see how it's all gone Horribly Wrong a little quick...

Re: 49 games against bots results
I've been keeping a spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gfIraEmmONofeeI0scnzycsxokDLlrEK-rat572-S-I/edit?usp=sharing) and I update it as I go. One of the things that I started doing (but haven't backfilled all of them yet) is making a link to each game so I can find them faster if ...

Has there been any thought or talk of doing a second one of these?

Activity of Eliminated Players
I am currently spectating a game where one of the players who was previously reduced to controlling zero supply centers was making comments in the global chat with the seeming intent of influencing the remaining players. It got me wondering, is this something that would be accepted or frowned upon? ...

Re: Managing an Ally's Bad Diplomacy
Was reading this again the other day and you are quite correct, sir... although, I feel it worth nothing that, in the book, the Konovalov is not destroyed by her own torpedos. Quite right! I believe the Konovalov is rammed to death by the Red October. Gonna pour one out for my dearly departed Capta...

Re: Absurd AI guessing
I'm playing another game as Turkey, this time trying the Juggernaut. For eight straight turns, Russia didn't support me to Trieste and did nothing instead. Then, finally I did an adjustment of my units and Russia decides to support me that turn. Interesting. I'm assuming you are speaking of Classic...

Re: Absurd AI guessing
I think it's pretty interesting that Germany actually supported your move from Naf to MAO in S1912. It's rare but I've seen the bots do some interesting things with orders (support holding units that move, providing move supports for units that hold, etc.) Having a bot flip its orders ever other tur...

Re: Can we get a Concede button for bot-only games?
Well, maybe if I hadn't played literally five times as many games as you i'd feel like wasting my time watching bots run the board after a stupid bot has decided to suicide into me. (seriously, why does the bot love to do this?) It's a waste of my time and puts me in a bad mood to have to creativel...

Re: Can we get a Concede button for bot-only games?
Not that I'm against a concede button, but fight to the bitter end! Personally, I think that I've learned something from trying to survive dire situations against the bots - even as frustrating as it can be at times. If the situation is that bad, it usually doesn't take more than a minute to order a...

Re: Winning as Austria against bots?
Ironically, I just discovered the bots and working my way through the powers to win with each. I just started with Austria, but this last game, I was attacked by Italy, Russia, Turkey AND GERMANY! in Spring 1901. In fact, the thing that saved my bacon was that Germany and Italy were fighting each o...

Re: Winning as Austria against bots?
Some hard data, if anyone is interested: I manually went through my 48 bot games where I wasn't Italy and tried to compile some stats about Bot Austria's behavior: 26 times (54%) Austria was the first country Italy attacked (with no move on Italy by Austria, generally an aggressive move in S/F of 1...

Re: 49 games against bots results
What's the secret to Italy? They are one of the countries I still struggle with. I don't know if it's a secret , but each of the eight times I've played as Italy I've gone after Turkey. I have yet to start an Italy game by either going after France or Austria right out of the gate. (Had a game rece...

Re: 49 games against bots results
This search should give you what you need. Thanks that worked and in my case returned over 200 results but not in a very useful format. So for example if I want to know how many times I played turkey and how many of those I won I would have to go through all the results manually. I hope this does n...

Re: 49 games against bots results
I just finished game number 56 against the bots last night (8 as each power): The short version: Austria: 2 W (25%), 3 D (37.5%), 1 S (12.5 %), 2 E (25%) England: 2 W (25%), 3 D (37.5%), 2 S (25 %), 1 E (12.5%) France: 3 W (37.5%), 4 D (50%), 1 S (12.5%), 0 E (0%) Germany: 4 W (50%), 2 D (25%), 0 S ...

End Of Game Report:War and Peace-5
http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=257705 So this was a private game I was invited to play in. My younger brother (FrontDeskMatt) was in an American Empire game that I had spectated and a few players of that game wanted to play a regular game and invited me to play in this one. I drew Ital...
