Re: What is the best country in bot games?
The bots don't know how to play as Austria, but if a player draws it, it's a winnable game if things break right. But you're also at solid odds to get hostile R/I/T opens and just die quickly, and there's little you can do about it. Yeah, I've never really found a trick to it either. I always wind ...

Re: Managing an Ally's Bad Diplomacy
... I would imagine that there's someone out there who would respond well to the First Officer onboard the V.K. Konovalov telling Captain Tupelov, "You arrogant ass, you've killed us! Though to be fair, the Konovalov DID blow up. That's brilliant! I, for one, would *totally* respond to a message li...

Re: What is the best country in bot games?
I've been keeping a spreadsheet of my games against the bots. I'm currently on my 3rd play through as each power. I would consider myself an average gunboat player and in a couple of these (the French non-solo and the 1 center Russian draw) I made move entry mistakes that probably cost me significan...

Re: webDip Player Map
Can someone move me from Huntley IL to Freedom Township OH? Aren't Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio basically the same? Growing up in a Michigan suburb of Toledo, OH (a mile from the border) and having traveled the midwest quite a bit, other than the accent changing a little as you go south, I can say t...

Re: Should you ever *not* take Galicia in 1901S?
I've not bounced Gal a few times playing as Russia if I have good relationships with both Italy and Turkey. By agreeing to a Gal bounce you can be relatively confident in Austria's moves being to Gal, Serbia, and Albania which when tipped off to Italy allows him to walk right into Trieste with Rome...

Re: Rage Against The Machine
4 games against the bots: 1st: Russia, 1 Center (Rome) 3-way draw R/G/T. Messed up orders in a stab on T in both S and A of 1908. Might have made a difference, maybe not. 2nd: Germany, Solo - Felt difficult. 3rd: France, Solo - Felt easy. 4th: Italy, Solo - Felt somewhere between G/F games. Currentl...

Re: AAR/EOG - Newbie Grind
Original Germany here. Very sad I could not finish the game. This was very fun and would love to do a rematch! My thoughts the entire game was to keep my promises and I think I only broke 1 to France. I was originally planning a 17/17 split with E but I did think that trying to take Turkey was goin...

Re: AAR/EOG - Newbie Grind
At that point when I saw Italy heading west and Germany not attacking for some strange reason, I knew it was either turkey takes all or a draw which is why I agreed to a draw earlier rather than later. You're probably right about this, although I don't think I would have gotten a solo - I believe I...

AAR/EOG - Newbie Grind
This was my first game on this site - I like a lot of the features compared to the older version of phpDiplomacy that runs on Facebook. I probably shouldn't have joined a 24-hour turn length game, but oh well. I've played a score of games online through FB (all classic, a mix of normal & gunboat), o...

Re: After Action / End-of-Game reports
OK, I'll start there. Another site (playdiplomacy.com ?) has a specific sub-forum under the Strategy section so I wanted to check and see if something similar existed here.

After Action / End-of-Game reports
Is there a specific place/section (or a recommended place/section) on this forum for AAR/EOG reports for games played on this site?
