Re: If you could commit one crime and it would forever thereafter cease to exist..

You could have a crack at a leadership spot in the Church of England in a corrupt appointment Crazy Anglican for the same reason? Are you suggesting that the selection of Archbishop of Canterbury is a process frequently plagued by corruption? I can't say that's ever been a worry of mine. Maybe the ...

See MM's got the idea, a little political corruption to erase all future corruption.

To be very clear in doing this, I'd mix personal and business funds in the above act.
This was intended to be a hypothetical not reminiscing about your past.
Yes, it just seemed like an excellent hypothetical way to get campaign finance reform.

Re: Lord of the Rings vs Harry Potter

It would make for a far shorter story if the two worlds were combined Gandalf "Keep it secret, keep it safe" Meanwhile, in Mordor Sauron "Accio ring" Gandalf "Fuck" I just got this mental image of every ring in Gondor and Rohan mystically zeroing in on Sauron at great velocity. Interesting way for ...

Sauron would kill Harry Potter quite easily.
Yet, Sauron couldn't even find a Hobbit in the Shire who didn't know he was being hunted.

Perhaps the title should have been Socialist Ideals are the foundational teachings of Christ.
Perhaps you've got that one backwards, but there is no harm in making the argument.

College sports are HUGE in the US. Especially college football Why is that exactly? Is there just a very strong sense of affiliation between people and the colleges they attended as young adults? I think it's more of a regional thing than alumni. Two schools in an area develop a rivalry (or an inte...

Johnny Lawrence is the hero of The Karate Kid... and Danny Larusso is the real villain. Ugh, another Cobra Kai revisionist. You completely ignore the context of the self defense situations that Danny Larusso found himself in. Sure, he was throwing the first punch, but was always put into an untenab...

Re: Do Roman records prove Jesus' existence was a hoax?

I can only conclude that MM's most recent post was, in fact, satire. Hopefully the D riding of Robert Graves is too I don't think anyone was deriding the author. When I looked the novels up, the review I saw classified them as historical fiction; and they seemed interesting. I'll probably read them.

Re: Wendy's

Wendy’s can be pretty good for a standard burger chain. It usually beats out McDonalds or Burger King if they have a good manager. Five Guys is way overpriced for what they deliver.
