I miss the "Notes" tab for the power I'm playing in the press section.

Re: How to break a stalemate line
Looking near the end, in the spring of 1921 there's two things I see that I wonder about: Bur->Mar and Edi->Nor. The bots had clearly shown in the several turns before that they were intent on tapping Spain, so I think you only need Gas S Mar to hold Mar. For that turn, you could use Mar to support ...

Re: My first Italian win, looking for tips on how to improve.
All that follows is specific to bot games... I actually find that, against the bots, Italy isn't that bad. I've played 42 games as each power against the bots (296 total games, working on round 43) and I have 24 wins as Italy (57%) which is second only to my 31/43 with Turkey (72%). When I first sta...

Re: vWDC MasterClass: Detecting Lies
Oh thanks for messaging, I just figured out last night that there's a problem with the audio (it sounds quiet, and compressed). I checked the raw recording and it was great, so I did something wrong in the editing process. I didn't want to subject anybody to the poor-quality one while I corrected t...

Re: vWDC MasterClass: Detecting Lies
Audio content you really don't want to miss. I usually just record and publish the vWDC MasterClass, but this time I was the presenter. If you have any interest in becoming a great Diplomat, this is a skill you want to perfect! vWDC MasterClass: Detecting Lies with BrotherBored Link doesn't seem to...

Re: webDiplomacy.net new server
I hesitate to report this as I wonder why no one else has reported it? Whenever I ready my orders in a bot game I have to refresh the page multiple times before reaching the next phase. Sometimes many, many times which is a bit tedious. I never get to see the button I used to see for moving to next...

Re: webDiplomacy.net new server
Also, out of curiosity, I started another bot game (https://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=366352) and gave it a couple of minutes... it says 7 players have joined and the game will start on the next processing cycle.

Re: webDiplomacy.net new server
Hmm.. not expected but that could well be due to changes made to reduce simultaneous game processing. How many minutes was it delayed for? It looks like it has moved on now, so did it eventually move on because of the votes or did it move on due to timing out? The current processor is running on a ...

Re: webDiplomacy.net new server
I don't know if it's expected or not, but I have a bot game going (https://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=366255) that doesn't seem to want to process even after several minutes of waiting after readying my moves.

I had the same issue happen a couple of times in the past couple of days (it hadn't happened for a long time) and submitted a report to the webdipmod gmail address as well.

Re: Bot openings
I don't know if you really need to split out each individual bot... from what I remember reading somewhere on the forum way back, there are only two possible "personalities" that can be assigned to each of the bots at the beginning each game. Zultar Bot gets assigned one of those two personalities, ...

I'm seeing the same issue with bot games now. It seemed ok earlier this afternoon, I got one turn in before it stopped working.

Re: What is the best country in bot games?
It's nice you keep track of your games. However, I'm not really that interested in which countries survived or how many centres they had. When I started playing against the bots I was curious as to the question of "am I a better player than the AI" which led to the various stat tracking (plus I'm j...

Question about a possible variant
Curious (since variantbank.org seems to not be 100% working, lots of errors browsing pages) if anyone knows of a variant of the classic game where the only changes to the map are adjusting things so that the three "dual coast" provinces were actually spilt into two provinces? (It looks like the Mode...

Re: webDiplomacy's interpretation of the victory rules
Here's an example of a game that was drawn, despite one player having 18 centres (yes, seriously): http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=349971 That shouldn't have happened. Hey, that's one of mine, didn't expect to see that! At the time, I didn't even realize that it was reported as a draw inst...

Re: What is the best country in bot games?
Thanks for sharing your results! Here's how often I've won so far when playing against bots: England : 1 / 11 = 0.09 France : 1 / 5 = 0.2 Italy : 2 / 6 = 0.33 Germany : 3 / 5 = 0.6 Austria : 5 / 17 = 0.29 Turkey : 4 / 4 = 1 Russia : 0 / 5 = 0 all : 16 / 53 = 0.3 I realize my sample is rather small ...

Re: What is the best country in bot games?
Another update, because I'm in the mood again - I've completed 30 games as every power for a total of 210 games. Turkey: 21 W (70%), 2 D, 5 S, 2 E Italy: 17 W (56.67%), 1 D, 6 S, 6 E France: 14 W (46.67%), 7 D, 5 S, 4 E Russia: 12 W (40%), 4 D, 6 S, 8 E Germany: 10 W (33.33%), 6 D, 4 S, 10 E England...
