Re: Thanks, everyone, for ruining webDiplomacy
Out of curiosity what counts as very bad for everyone? I live in a rural community in Gloucestershire with a population of a little over 2,000 (and which is classed as a town rather than a village purely because someone built a castle in the middle of it). The best internet I could get here is aroun...

Re: FTF Diplomacy in Hampshire UK
It's a tough ask to gather enough people for a game somewhere like Hampshire. Your best bet for a game is probably London. I think the London Diplomacy Club is showing signs of life again, and is having semi-regular meetings. That might be your best bet

How she didn't win best actress for Bednobs and Broomsticks I'll never know. A near perfect film (aside from the abysmal Portobello Road dance bit when people traditionally wander off and make drinks)
I assume we all agree Amos Tupper was the best sherif?

Re: War, what is it good for?
It's very good at penetrating enemy armour, and every shot scatters the depleted uranium in a little cloud of extremely toxic dust. Probably fine in small doses, but where you get higher concentrations (say, at the site of a battle) you wouldn't be particularly well advised to drink water from the w...

Can we open it up to all political criminals? India seems rather keen on adding a lot of new ones, and it would be a shame if Gandhi is excluded

Re: War, what is it good for?
Good news, everyone! We're now apparently supplying Ukraine with depleted uranium ammunition, which will happily scatter this highly toxic heavy metal across Ukraine's green and pleasant land in the name of freedom! This will make a fine accompaniment to all the landmines and unexploded shells that ...

Is he typically known by something more than just his given name, such as a nickname or some kind of honorific?
Examples could include Vlad the Impaler, Æthelred the Unready, Conan the Barbarian, and Dora the Explorer

Re: War, what is it good for?
Whilst we're talking about propaganda and the unmasking of the painful reality of the situation in Ukraine behind the usual narrative that it is just Russia suffering from poor morale and sending poorly trained cannon fodder to the front, let's have a brief aside and have a look at the world of the ...

Re: War, what is it good for?
In fairness to her, when you come from a political background that paints pretty much everyone as an imperialist it becomes near impossible to not take the side of some of the imperialists in a major diplomatic spat. As for US conspiracies, surely the US manoeuvring to maintain an advantage over Rus...

Re: Happy Pie Day (or pi day)
Pah! Pi day is the 22 of July, or 22/7.
14/3 isn't remotely pi-ish, although there's a good argument for making the 31st of April vegan pi day
