Re: France vs Austria Bot Challenge
Would it be possible to have an option on the FvA page to choose which bot to play against?

Re: Winning as Austria against bots?
First (and only) time I played as Austria with bots, I won with a crushing 20 centers solo. I didn't even realize it was so difficult to do! http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=319487#gamePanel It's harder against bots than in real games because all the bots are convinced that they should get ...

Re: All Diplomacy Scoring Stinks
What about a negotiating system for draws? All parties not eliminated from the game have to agree to a split of the pot. If they do, the game is drawn and the survivors receive their apportionment. Otherwise, the game continues. I could see there being issues with this holding up draws because the ...

Late Game AI Ineptitude
https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=329800
For around 7-8 years, I managed to stave off both England and France as Turkey with only around 10 scs. Despite having a huge numerical superiority, they failed to break my lines for that many years. Yet another example of subpar ai play.

Re: Winning as Austria against bots?
Here is a game I won when Italy went full out against me from day one. This took a lot of patience. https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=329455 7 different turns, Italy attacked Trieste with three units, and another 4 turns they attacked with 4 units. I'm surprised I survived the start. After t...

Re: Players for Kazakhstan-7
I joined. I'm from the Eastern US, so not UK, but I am not on in the evenings anyways, so I'll be on in similar hours as you guys will. Plus, I won't give up, and if I do go inactive, it won't be intentional. I might need a pause in late October if the game is still going, but other than that, I sho...

Re: How Do We Feel About Not Even Trying to Win?
I think you can be in a great position and take a draw if you think it's unlikely for you to solo, or that if you attempt it there is a chance the other player might solo. If you can obviously solo then you should stab. Players that carebear are no fun to play with. But games aren't always that cle...

Re: Winning as Austria against bots?
I went back through my bot games and I've won twice as Austria. Both times coming on the back of an Italian Lepanto. http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=311896 http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=312530 Interesting. The only time I won was with no Lepanto. By the time I got Consta...

Re: Absurd AI guessing
I'm playing another game as Turkey, this time trying the Juggernaut. For eight straight turns, Russia didn't support me to Trieste and did nothing instead. Then, finally I did an adjustment of my units and Russia decides to support me that turn.

Re: Absurd AI guessing
I think it's pretty interesting that Germany actually supported your move from Naf to MAO in S1912. It's rare but I've seen the bots do some interesting things with orders (support holding units that move, providing move supports for units that hold, etc.) Having a bot flip its orders ever other tu...

Re: Absurd AI guessing
I was playing as Turkey, and everything was going great until I hit a stalemate line with Germany. I still knew I would win, as England was slowly eating away behind German lines, but I expected to win much earlier. For nine straight turns, the AI correctly guessed on a 50/50 whether I would attack...

The 34 Supply Center Challenge.
The premise is simple; play a bot game and capture all 34 supply centers without triggering the game's end beforehand. So basically you have to go from 17 to 34 in one year. The closest I have got is 30. Has anyone achieved this?

Re: 49 games against bots results
I've played 120 bot games and I am quite surprise that you did not win with Germany or Turkey. I find those two the easiest. Here is my tier list:
Germany
Turkey
France
After these three there is a big dropoff
Italy
England
Russia
Austria
