Re: Tower Game Series
Not signing up yet because I'll be too busy TDing - just jumping to point out that you'll definitely get to play at least two sets MadMarx, because it's double elimination :D I'm fairly certain you'll end up with more after that too.

Do plants count? Being caught in a Venus flytrap or a Pitcher plant would be a horrible way to go.

Re: Announcing the 2018 GvI and FvA Showdowns
I actually expected it to take 3 or 4 months the first time around, and for the most part, it did. The real problem with this format is that 2 sets have to finish before 1 set in the next round can start. That's fine, but it means if 1 set goes slowly, it forces one player in the next round to wait ...

Re: Announcing the 2018 GvI and FvA Showdowns
What about seedings for people who've only played this on playdip? :P Good point - as there isn't a 1v1 rating system on playdip, I'm going to rank your 1v1 Elo at the base value (100) but the tiebreaker will be your position in the playdip 'All Games' ranking, and if that's tied then I'll seed the...

Re: Announcing the 2018 GvI and FvA Showdowns
Game phases are 1 day per phase - readying is encouraged, but not required. Every player also has one week total pause time to use whenever they wish - further pauses may be granted but need to be approved by the GM. There's no hard limit on when the games need to end but I'll step in if a game is c...

Re: Announcing the 2018 GvI and FvA Showdowns
Oh, I forgot to mention - seedings this year are based on your most recently available 1v1 Elo if you've played 5 or more 1v1 games. If you have played fewer than five, you will be seeded at the base value of 1v1 Elo (100) with the tiebreaker being your most recently available Overall Ghost Rating.

Announcing the 2018 GvI and FvA Showdowns

Re: The 'Problem' and 'Politics' with the Political Forum
The vitriol constantly present on the front page here due to the political forum threads was the main reason I chose to play on vDip instead of webDip when I started out. I'd never have looked at webDip again if it hadn't been for Jmo asking me to mod here, and then Eden's Mafia letting me get to kn...

Re: The 'Problem' and 'Politics' with the Political Forum
Politics threads often get pretty nasty. Some people like that kind of thing, and those people will find this subforum easily enough - but having those kind of posts 'front and center' is a great way to make everyone who doesn't like them avoid the forum entirely, and that's a substantial amount of ...
