Re: 2020 Boston Massacre

I love this part...
The great thing about Diplomacy is that it really is a great place to make friends. If you click with someone and the friendship continues after the blood has been cleaned off the board…you’ve found a friend for life. Hold onto that guy but always check his pockets for knives.

2020 Boston Massacre

Who else was there?
I got to face off against the likes of Abgemacht, which was a pleasure.
I also did much better than in Dixiecon earlier this year.
Anyone have any tales to tell?

Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament

Instead of a Masters Tournament, has there ever been a "100 percent Reliability Rating" Tournament?
That might have a pretty good commitment level. It wouldn't promise a high level of play though. Not sure how many players would qualify either.

Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament

Every time someone posts in this topic, some poor sap sees the title and thinks, "Ooh, I want to be in the 2020 Masters Tourney!" Then they start reading from the beginning of the thread. At some point it finally dawns on them that they are way too late. I don't know what you are talking about, I to...

On the positive side, the two nephews do like to gang up on me, so you might be able to play off of that.

Family Game

Join at your own risk.
48 hr turns, classic.
Game contains my cousin and two nephews, one of which is a nine year old.
The young nephew is surprisingly good tactically for a nine year old, he just lacks in communication and maturity.

Re: Shared wins?

By equating draws with solos, you make it into an easy decision: the solo is not going to be worth the risk. We'd get players that are too afraid to loose the 'success' of a draw to aim for a win. You make this sound like a hypothetical. We have players like that. I play against players like that. ...

Gunboat with press

Gunboat means absolutely, positively no press, right? There are some guys playing with the Global chat open, and they are cutting deals in global chat, and calling it Gunboat.
So, if I'm right, and that is not Gunboat, then what is it called, when you play with no private messaging?

Classic one day, like one day turns? Or you are playing the whole game in one day?
