Re: Rhubarb Pie

Rhubarb Pie is awesome. My mother made it with and without strawberries. I have not had any in a long time. I often look for it but cannot find it in the area where I live now. I don't know if I'd like anyone else's rhubarb pie because I would compare it to my mother's. Much like I don't totally enj...

Re: Adjudicator bug?

I have wondered whether one player changed their move at the last instant, just as the deadline time approached or even nearly simultaneously. I don't know if that happened, or it that would affect anything.

BOT Making Error Writing Orders?

At the end of a long BOT game, one of the BOTs wrote a "support hold" order for one of its own units that was moving in an attack on one of my centers (that moved failed). It also ordered another one its units to support the moving unit to move. Either the "support hold" or the "move" order was an e...

BOTs

Heaven help me. I'm starting to think like a BOT. It seems I've done well in my last two BOT games. How did that happen? The data did not compute.

Re: What Do Dip Players Do in Real Life?

As little as possible. Retired. Was an operations research analyst for U.S. Army. Trying to figure out what new weapons systems or force structures we should develop. Once got to play a wargame at work for an actual study. Bosses had too many "good" ideas that they wanted me to work on. So I retired...

Re: How Old are Diplomacy Players

My first postal game was number 1972A in the old Boardman numbering system. 1972 is the year the game started and the "A" tells you it was the first postal game of that year. It was played in John Boardman's "Graustark" 'zine. So I am old -- 69 going on 12. Actually got to play face to face at John ...

How is "anonymous" really kept anonymous?

Are you able to keep a couple of buddies from getting together and agreeing to join the same "anonymous" game? They could then exchange information on the side. I think I have seen some remarkable (unexplainable?) alliances develop in the few anonymous games I have played. In the meantime, I will tr...

Game Search

Is there a way to sort by type of game I am searching? For example, if I want to participate in a Gunboat game (anonymous and no press) is there a way to look for a Gunboat type without searching through the entire list of game openings?

Maps

The arrows on the maps get messy. Recommend renaming the maps with the arrows as "adjudication maps" and then have the "refresh maps" show a clean board with the current unit locations (after all retreats and builds are completed). Thanks for your consideration.
