1v1 France vs Austria Strategy
Hello all, Looking at this game... http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=300589 ... can anyone suggest how France might have played differently in the first few years to do better against Austria? Ignore the last couple of years, where mistakes were made by both sides around Berlin and Munich - I...

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!
Having read this thread, there's still something I don't understand about the bots - do they all share the same AI? Or were they all trained separately and therefore have their own styles? From what I read above, is it the case that there are only two styles of the AI (I think one more conservative ...

Seeking suicidal Italian to take over hopeless position
Italy has just gone into civil disorder in this game: http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=294897 I have no idea why people take over positions like this (maybe someone can enlighten me?) but apparently they do, so if for some strange reason you fancy it let me know and I'll send you the invite ...

G'day!
Thanks for replying - maybe not ideal as most of the players are in the uk (should have mentioned that before), so more or less completely opposite time zone!

One player needed, Classic one-day game with friends
Hi all, We are a group of friends (in real life) who need one player to make up a Classic one-day game, as one of us has dropped out. We have mixed experience from a handful of games up to 40 and like to play a friendly, chatty game. We're very strict about not communicating outside the game (which ...

Re: Anonymous Games, Reliability, Etc.
Thanks for your reply, Doug.
How do you know if high-ranked players are playing an anonymous game? Do you set one up yourself then find good players to invite, or look for games advertised in the forum?
What do you consider a good reliability rating? 85%, 90%, 95%?

Anonymous Games, Reliability, Etc.
Hi all, I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts on the pros and cons of playing anonymous or non-anonymous games, as I haven't quite got my head around it yet. I assume some benefits of anonymous games is that you can't judge a player's ability (i.e. their stats, previous games, likely strategy, et...

Civil Disorder Questions
Hi all, I have a reasonable understanding of how civil disorder works, but I'd like some things clarifying please. When someone takes over a country in civil disorder, can they read all the messages that were previously sent and received by that country, or only after the time they joined? Are there...

Possible/likely outcomes of games
Hello all, I've just started playing again after a long break, so my memory is rusty to say the least! I'd be grateful if someone help me understand how games can end. Using the Classic map as an example, 18 supply centres is obviously a solo win. If I understand it correctly, players can all agree ...
