Re: Twenty questions, round 296
So somehow it is not known what place or what country this person was born, yet it is known that they were born in the northern hemisphere, and not in the Americas, and it is known when he was born. Curious.

Re: Twenty questions, round 296
We need to drill down on the reason for the pass on place of birth. I assume the place is unknown, but Spartaculous could be playing tricks with the political definition of the birthplace. Do you know, or can one find out on the person's Wikipedia page (if they have one), where this person was born ...

Re: Twenty questions, round 296
Born in Chinese Outer Mongolia, Japanese-occupied Manchuria or Japanese-occupied Korea? I see where you are going with this question, and I thought of Tibet and Hong Kong also, but the question QM passed on was "born in what is now China, Taiwan or Japan." These places you ask about are all now cle...

Re: 20 Questions: 295th round
Of course, John James Audubon! I wanted to guess him earlier but excluded him because he was born in Haiti, and for some reason in my head I didn't think that was part of "North America", but of course by many definitions the Caribbean could be so included.

Re: 20 Questions: 295th round
But "most famous for visual arts" was a yes. So we are looking for a visual artist, whose main medium is painting, but may be most famous for some other visual art. It couldn't be Morse, for example, because he is most famous as an inventor. I was about to guess Winslow Homer, but he is very much mo...

Re: XX Questions – Game CCXCIII
Served as leader of a country/polity I'm afraid we've fallen into some weeds as a result of this question. We know he is not a monarch, but is he a head of state at all, or just a head of government? Would the chief minister of such a centralized kingdom as Spain qualify as the "leader" of the coun...
