Having taken the PSAT, SAT, ACT and later the GRE for graduate school, I can say they are all pretty useless for college. They all test for things you mostly won't need to be successful.

The verbal is the worse for testing knowledge that you won't use. Math is better, but unless you did high school calculus they assume you need remedial classes to do it.

The GRE for your graduate field is the only one written to test what you learned that you will need.

High school aligned media is claiming that most people bomb the SAT because it sucks. Does anyone really believe that the SAT is a better test than the ACT?
