Nice work! I actually found William Blake while searching for possibilities, and thought he might very well could have been it, but I didn't feel nearly confident enough to make the guess, which is why I asked the writing question.

So we've got his/her DOB down to a 23 year period (Gregorian calendar adopted Sep 14, 1752; before Jan 1, 1776). No more than four more questions should get us the exact year.
Less if we do what I was tempted to do in the last game and ask related questions like whether the mother was pregnant in such and such timeframe

I guess I'm allowed a second question in a row, so lets continue this experiment with date of birth. Born on or after Jan 1, 1776?
No.

Good point about gender. Thank you for clarifying.

To be clear, I am counting the "Kingdom of Great Britain" as being "the United Kingdom (as it was then constituted at the time of [the person]'s birth)".

Also, I did not originally note the use of "his" in cdngooner's question. The person's gender has not yet been established; my "yes" answer (and this comment) should not be evidence one way or another.

This is tangentially a date-of-birth question as we know when the Gregorian calendar was adopted in the UK.
Agreed; +1 awarded.
