1866 was year of the battle Königgrätz, a decisive win of the Prussian army over the Austrian army, that shifting the power in Germany from the more diplomatic Austrians to the warmongering Prussians and thus had global long run consequences. This resulted in the „lesser German solution“ with Austria leaving the German Empire forming Austro-Hungarian Empire in the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of [b]1867[/b]
