Will do Yonni: A join UI within the board, ability to chat after the game has finished, sandbox build phase support, suspicion / mod request link, and links to user profiles. I think that's all the outstanding requests for the new UI

Hey Kestas,

Small feature request for the new UI. Cold you add hyperlinks between the player names and their WebDip profiles once the usernames are shown (either during for non-anon or post for anon)? I think that existed in the old UI.

Which link are you trying to use? Apologies there are always a couple of kinks with these sorts of changes
Not OP but when I post a link like so: "https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=565481" People whose point and click is set to default just get put into a "pre-game" screen without any UI to actually join the game they've been directed to

I'm pretty confident this was just because people had a cached version of the old code which wasn't refreshing. It looks like everyone's orders are working when I log in.

If it's still not working for you can you let me know your browser and whether you're using point and click or dropdown?

It is an old dropdown menu problem, but on mobile firefox browser i cannot choose any center to build on the World map. Like there is nowhere to retreat wit a unit.

how do we see if other people have readied their orders?

Not sure if it has to do with this, but there is a bug: in a Modern game I’m playing, I have two builds and sufficient open SCs, yet it doesn’t allow me to build anywhere (essentially showing the ‘red’ drop down, similar to having a dislodged unit without a valid retreat).

Hi everybody,

Is there a way to get back to the old map (at least being able to switch between the 2 of them) ? I find it very difficult to follow all kind of moves on the new map and get a clear overview of what is going on.
Am I the only one to feel that way ?

Thanks

Sorry if this already got reported. It might not be related to the new default UI but it started happening when it got implemented. When the game fills up, if theres anyone with the point and click UI enabled, it takes the whole set time that you put to fill the game. And since the default is 7 days, it takes 7 days for a full game to start.

Booted up a game, some various complaints (all on desktop, idc about mobile):
1. It's hard to tell both what game you are looking at and what country you are
2. The chat window is entirely too small and cannot be resized
3. Chat messages don't show the day next to them, just the time (which I think is the same as the old map, but we can do better)
4. Player names don't show up next to the country for non-anon games

I created a game and no one seems to be able to join through the link.

Red exclamation mark under status in info. My moves are readied, but there is a red ! under status. Saw the same thing for another player in another game. My game is "Classic Anon-15"

I really like the old map.
I’m used to “read the board” like that and cannot get used to the new one.
The fact that I can’t see the whole map on my phone screen doesn’t help…
Is there a way to mangais the access to the old big map with the middle button?
Second this ^^^ For whatever reason, I can't get used to the new interface. I very much appreciate that you're continuing to support the old!

One other comment: On the old interface, please don't take away the large map function. As an old guy whose eyes don't work so well any more, I find it's sometimes much easier to see the last turn's orders on the large map. Also, failed support orders don't show up on the small map.

Agree with Troo...I really like the interface for the point and click, but the scale is off and I'm so used to thinking and picturing a game using the old map that it's difficult to navigate and digest everything at once. I'd love a toggle button to the old interface. Doesn't need to be big and obvious, but something I could access on the new UI to switch to the old map view without having to dig through my profile. I think it will help ease the transition.

EDIT: I'll also add that the "fullscreen" look is kind of defeated by the large turn display covering up most of Italy. There's also a lot of dead space on either side of the board. Seems like the map could be shifted left and these informational components could be housed on the right side of the screen so I could easily see the entire board without controls hiding spaces. It's also problematic (at least as far as I can tell) to make sure all units have been issued orders.
I strongly second both of these suggestions.

Please.
