I would say no, as though the impact could be low, it would still an influence on the negotiations, which is against the spirit of how this game is set up.

The idea to have generals be able to communicate with diplomats once per year is an interesting variation, and one that could be used in a future game, but I don't want to change the rules once the game has already started.

I believe that the incentive for generals to read the forum thread is that there is an advantage to knowing what alliances exist and to be able to have some (one-sided) communication, and I believe the moves so far show that many generals have been aligned with the diplomats' promises in the thread, though some have chosen to deviate as well. This is how I hoped it would work.

I don't think you can re-negotiate the rules and approach of the game after the game has started. I veto this suggestion for now but happy to consider it for future games.

I agree with the idea... but the way this game began would not allow for that. I would advise 100% agreement before making any such changes. I leave it up to the game organizer whether to even attempt the process.

i have different opinions on this . as general , every general should ensure that he has full knowledge whats EVERY OTHER DIPLOMAT is doing .

for this , all generals or atleast 50% general give should +1 to ensure us that this is NOT JUST A SIMPLE GUN BOAT MATCH

you can update the diplomat names atleast . As i joined as Austrian diplomat . Atleast ,Inform it with an official declaration , lmao .

Also, as a newly promoted General, one favor I'd like to ask *all* the diplomats is to put the current turn phase in their messages going forward. I was rereading the thread and it wasn't always obvious what messages were sent when.

Also, I've voted unpause and am ready to start whenever.

I was mistaken,
about France returning, sorry about that. DougJoe, I've sent you the password to the game if you'd still like to join. I will disclose that I am not playing as one of France's neighbours, so I do not benefit from this CD, I was honestly confused. Hoping to continue the game without further incident!
