5. Native speaker of a Germanic language

@QM: Sorry to be fussy but can you provide any evidence of Gene Hackman being a fluent / native German (or Germanic) speaker?

He was of German ancestry but that doesn't automatically mean he spoke the language. His attempt at a Polish accent in "A Bridge Too Far" is very corny and not very accurate.
Unbelievably two people plus oned this lol.
Unbelievably as a speaker of both English and German, I asked it.

Yes, English is in the Germanic language family.
yeah i know but idk if his native language was english
Born in California, USA, so without evidence to the contrary, I would assume yes.

I did make the assumption based on birthplace, his parents last names, and his perfect accent.

I think that it's reasonable for the QM to assume he was a native speaker of English but idk I couldn't find any source on skim that specifically states it so maybe he wasn't

Won the said academy award (or the first award if multiple) prior to 1949?
fyi this is impossible (only one male has won best actor or best supporting actor under the age of 29, and that was in 1980)
