TS Garp?

(I confess I have no idea about the character, I just happened on the link on wiki’s year by year page of American novels)
TS Garp is correct.
Interesting pick, like I said I was just poking at book titles in the 1978 American Lit page that looked promising until I found one with a big movie adaptation. How did you land on this character?

I will get a new round up soon.
I had recently rewatched The World According to Garp. I used to be a pretty big John Irving fan. I always thought the books were better than the movies. I also thought that since my last pick was so obscure, I should go with someone more popular this time. Imagine my surprise (and a little amusement, I suppose) when everyone started picking Stephen King characters.
