No, this was mostly remembering that Conrad was Polish (it turns out that he was born in what is now Ukraine) and engaging in a bit of QM-reading to make the guess. It occurred to me that both Orwell and Conrad were British authors who were born in other places, but any other connections (like as suggested by Aristocrat, who is probably on the right track) didn't occur to me until after you pointed out that there was a link.

Also obligatory: see round #2.

I am guessing it has something to do with Livingstone's fame and Conrad's fame (both being related to Africa) but am not 100% sure.
