I just finished reading it for the first time so I couldn't resist--obviously there are multiple characters I could have chosen but I thought the whale would be the most fun. Technically it was first published in London, hence the pass, and I actually checked to make sure that the publisher was based west of Greenwich.

^ for the new folks, since we know the character was introduced after 1800, the pass means it is uncertain if it was introduced in the US or not (also worth noting the US didn’t have the same borders throughout this time period)
