For the sake of closure, I do want to apologize for the use of the “r-word” that triggered offense in BB and (possibly) Glitter. I am a flawed person with poor (arguably none but some think I have a little bit) tact and I defaulted to poor language during frustration. Rest assured, I understand that word is offensive to you and I will not use it again.

BB - I think I said it very accurately in the discord, but our exchange was incredibly frustrating to me. I felt I was in a “lose-lose” situation with you and as an essential “clear”, I needed to work with you. Ultimately, it felt like if I didn’t respond to you, I was scum and when I did respond, my logic was seen as scummy.

In regards to you two playing in games together, I don’t think it’s impossible but I observed (in my opinion) BB back off on pushing glitter far earlier than he normally would and even said someone else needed to because he didn’t want to contribute to a situation where you would lose (this is me paraphrasing fwiw). As another player in a game, it’s tricky to play around that and not bring this up.

So positing that my previous reads are correct (damo, yo-yo town…but yo-yo is trying hard to shake me of that).

It leaves Sparta looking really badly.

Glitter doesn’t look good.

Vecna is vanity. Which is…a thing? I don’t get why he didn’t want to push, but I can conceive of it as either alignment.

Worcej voting with spirit…Aldo he and brain have been going at each other all game but never very hard. Just hard enough.

And (ghug, brain)…but I’m towning ghug too for other reasons, and I’ve already posited a read on brain.

So something in:

Sparta-Glitter-Vecna.

Possible worcej. Longshot brain.

GM NOTES

Well played town. I think that Chaqa, Worcej, and Vecna all played well, but it was a good team effort and everyone on the Town Team can be pleased with their win.

Hard luck scum. The early suspicion on Damo, coupled with Chaqa's late decision not to shoot Damo, but Balki (leaving Damo a major D2 suspect), led to your downfall, leaving Glitterbomb, who I think played well, with a very difficult task.

If I ran this setup again I would remove the line in the setup which requires the GM to announce, on D2, the number of Town Roses. This was part of the original setup run several times on another site, but it did seem to hand Town an extra clue in this game, which on reflection was probably a little extra help they did not need.

I hope everyone enjoyed this little game and I look forward to playing in the next one.

Also loved the flavor, jamie/darg, especially the mafia all being managers and record executives. And the game mechanic choices were fun and interesting too

FINAL CHAPTER

A lone figure stood on the roof of the Capitol Records building, staring across the skyline.

"It's not fair," she mused. "I had all the advantages. All the cards. The money. The connections. The brains. The music. The best plastic surgeons. All of it.

The cool evening breeze whipped at her carefully-arranged hair. She sighed.

"And those damn kids with their Guns and their Roses and their Motley Crue. Cinderella. Poison. What do they know? In a year's time nobody will even remember those bands!"

The door to the roof access opened. Two men in neat shirts approached.

"Ms Osborne, Detectives Segal and Bingenheimer. We need you to come down to the station. We need to ask you some questions about the recent shootings on the Sunset Strip."

Slowly, she turned, bristling, rage overcoming her facade of calm.

"The Sunset Strip? The music business MADE the Sunset Strip! I AM THE MUSIC BUSINESS!!"

Detective Bingenheimer strode closer. "Ms. Osborne, you're coming with us."

"Oh yeah? Catch me then!"

Giving the officer a final "up yours" gesture, she ran toward the railing, and jumped over the edge.

Glitterbomb has died. She was Sharon Osbourne, of the Mafia! She picked a Gun.

Ghug has survived. He was Mick Mars, of the Town. He picked a Gun.
Vecna has survived. He was Dee Snider, of the Town. He picked a Gun.
Brainbomb has survived. He was Kip Winger, of the Town. He picked a Rose.
SpiritoftheRadio survived. He was Mike Tramp, of the Town. He picked a Rose.

The TOWN has won Mafia 91
