Presidential nicknames!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nicknames_of_presidents_of_the_United_States
Pretty much! I think what happened was that I was thinking about Brandon Brown as a potential choice, and how funny it was that this random NASCAR driver's name ended up becoming a nickname for the President of the United States. I had remembered reading about other presidential nicknames, and decided it could be a multiball round. I had George Gipp, Sleeping Beauty, and Cincinnatus in my head for a while, and then realized that I could use Uncle Sam and Jumbo, and also Belshazzar and Tom Pendergast. There were a few others that I considered, but they didn't seem to be as much of "a thing", like John F. Kennedy being associated with Tage Erlander. Also Napoleon Bonaparte (Polk) and Harry Houdini (FDR) could have been in there if they hadn't been targets already.

So, the answers were:

A: Cincinnatus (George Washington was called "the American Cincinnatus" because he became a private citizen after winning a war)
B: Belshazzar (Martin Van Buren was called "Machiavellian Bellshazzar" for reasons that I'm sure made sense at the time)
C: Uncle Sam (Ulysses S. Grant was called "Uncle Sam Grant" by his West Point classmates due to the initials)
D: Jumbo (Grover Cleveland was called "Uncle Jumbo", I guess because he was physically big?)
E: Sleeping Beauty (William Howard Taft was called "Sleeping Beauty" by his wife because he fell asleep a lot)
F: Tom Pendergast (Harry Truman was called "the Senator from Pendergast" because he was connected with Pendergast who was a political boss)
G: George Gipp (Ronald Reagan was called "the Gipper" because he had played Gipp in a movie)
H: Brandon Brown (Joe Biden has been called "Brandon" and "Dark Brandon" by his supporters, which evolved through a chain of events starting with a reporter misreporting something a crowd was chanting while interviewing Brown after a race)

Thanks for playing and sticking with this, everyone. Good job miminena on apparently being the only person to figure out the theme! I'm glad someone did. I am curious as to how early you figured it out.
It was Cincinnatus that was the give away for me, since I can't think of him without thinking of George Washington.

New round is up

Oh wow! Interesting choices and theme. Cincinnatus and Brandon were the only nicknames I knew of myself

Also: sorry for such a US-centric and male-heavy round, but it was kind of inevitable with the theme.

Is it figures with phrases named after them? i.e. writing on the wall, jumbo size, Let’s Go Brandon

Miminena, if you want to tell everyone what the theme is, you can.

Go ahead.
In that case, I believe person H is Brandon Brown.
H: Brandon Brown is, of course, correct.
Out of curiosity, what inspired this round?

If the QM endorses this, I'll give out my guess for H.
Go ahead.

Since Miminena has already won and since I don’t think any of us besides them know the theme, I would support letting Miminena go for H.

Oh, I think I may have figured it out. I won't say anything, since I'm playing to win here, but If I'm right, then this should be correct.

Free guess for F: Tom Pendergast
F: Tom Pendergast is correct!

I believe you have mathematically won so congratulations, but let's see if anyone can get H.
:D

This really was a clever theme. Amazing choices!
