Good game, new thread up shortly. I’d pretty much given up on this game until you mentioned the pick was “tricky” - at which point I tried to figure out what the trick might be and work backwards from there.

I am being a bit tricky with something, but the subject is I think more well known in the West than any of the actors mentioned so far.

I really want to say Jin Yan, who was the biggest Chinese film star of the 30's, but he was born in Korea.

The only other one I can find who fits is quite obscure. I have used my free guess, so I'll ask a conditional question, so at least if I'm wrong I'll narrow the field for the rest of the players.
