I was looking at the border of China on the Sino-Tibetan languages map, and then thought, "Wait...Sherpas" and it all fell into place. This and Princess Lilibet have been my most satisfying correct guesses in this game. Great pick.

Great subject and great guess. I was really wondering why the scientist/athlete/inventor was passed and now it makes sense.

So somehow it is not known what place or what country this person was born, yet it is known that they were born in the northern hemisphere, and not in the Americas, and it is known when he was born. Curious.

I am not playing tricks with the definition of countries here. I feel confident that, if I were to whisper to you (or any of the other players here) the correct answer and you were to look at the person's Wikipedia page, you would quickly conclude that my "pass" to the China/Taiwan/Japan birthplace question was the only reasonable answer I could have given to that question.

So: No.

We need to drill down on the reason for the pass on place of birth. I assume the place is unknown, but Spartaculous could be playing tricks with the political definition of the birthplace.
