@Szpoti, it is your turn
Yup, sure. Socially busy Sunday. Thinking about what obscure Brit to employ.

I think Q7 is the culprit of the confusion. We should avoid asking complex questions of this sort since they can generate a positive answer to any positive constituent.
These lists of potential classifications have been very helpful, actually, and we usually get pretty good return on them.

Primarily known for being a chess player?
How many apolitical live retired chess players can you think of off the top of your head.
Certainly more than the number of darts players I could even recognize given a list of famous darts players...

I disagree.

There was a winning guess within 16 questions, so we were fine.
I think Szpoti was correct that Q7 caused confusion, but their conclusion is where I would disagree. I think people just need to keep in mind that questions like that allow for, in this case, three different correct possibilities.

Vladimir Kramnik?
Correct! My chess hero and the 14th World Champion. When posed with the question of whether the glass is half full or half empty, Kramnik would probably answer that the glass was full.

Kramnik was the one to unseat Garry Kasparov as World Champion during the chess schism, and defended that title in a match with Veselin Topalov (known as Toiletgate), to become the 14th World Champion.

Yeah, that's why I noted in #10 that #7 did not necessarily imply athlete.

The not-totally-binary nature of the answer suggest it do be that way, yez.
We should stop asking that question (and specifying "native English speaker" isn't much better), it just doesn't do much when it applies to so many people outside the anglosphere.
I dare to disagree. The definite answer to 'a native speaker of English?' has been very helpful. But we are dealing here with the aftermath of a somewhat ambiguous question 'speaking English?', which, to my eye, was unfortunate. The answer 'they know English' can easily be read as sarcasm.
I suppose my answer had a bit of a tone because so many non-natives know English.

I will be generous and clarify that it is not their 1st language, since Dousing probably meant to ask that.
