I was going to say that it seemed either an old map or an opt-in, as I didn't see myself on the map, and I looked through all the Canadian names to see if Bert was on there (he's not) to confirm my suspicions.

Even if the proposition were just "Do you agree to share your non-anonymized IP-implied location data with all users?" I would have checked no.

The risk that some erratic user thinks a disagreement in game or on the forum warrants trying to find out something about another player's social media, place of work, etc. is low, but it's not zero. There is at least one now-banned player who I would not have willingly shared even my city of residence with lol.

Its not house level, just city level. At least for me.

Yikes, the player pin locations look weirdly accurate. I doubt any trouble would come of it, but it seems inadvisable for such a map to be publicly accessible if it's literally like house-level data.

That's been published before

Considering that Webdiplomacy does a very good job with aggregating data and stats, I would wish that players countries are also registered and stats shown about that. For instance, a list of countries and number of players from them. For me, it's just curiosity about countries where Diplomacy is most popular. I also am curious to know if there are others from my country that play this game.

In any case, it's just a curiosity of mine.
