09 May 12 UTC | Spring, 1: Gents, especiallyThax & Florentine - make sure you check the rules about movement around the Nile delta and the Red Sea |
10 May 12 UTC | Spring, 1: In case youre wondering... Green tick means your orders are lodged and saved and "ready" to go - once everyone has a green tick, the turn advances. Purple tick means orders are lodged and saved but not "ready" - the turn wont advance. Its kinda like an intermediate thinking step. If you select "ready" you can still change the orders - by clicking "unready" and changing them - as long as you beat the clock AND at least one other person is not yet ready. |
10 May 12 UTC | Spring, 1: Gents, So everyone is adequately informed ... It looks like Egypt is going to "dissolve into Civil Disorder" - Thax has decided Dip isnt for him. The Mediator is trying to get a stand-in, but first orders are due 6pm, which meay mean Egypt is without orders in its first turn |
11 May 12 UTC | Spring, 1: OK - so we're trying to sub in Andrew Kalnins. I have set my orders to "unready" - so if you need to change your orders withthe ebb and flow of fortunes this turn.... youve got a chance. |
11 May 12 UTC | Spring, 1: Looks like we've failed to sub in for Egypt. Time for me to hit the road. |
12 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 1: I just put my moves in, and told the computer I am ready. Presumably,. that will work on sunday or whenever it ticks over. |
12 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 1: Greetings warlord 8-) Once Greece and Persia's ready their moves their ticks will become green and when all ticks are green a new season beguins. |
12 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 1: Can anyone contact Persia before 7am? His orders are saved (purple) but not ready (green) - he'll miss his turn if the timer clicks over! |
12 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 1: It's been done. |
14 May 12 UTC | Spring, 2: Gents - especially Carthage and Italy... If you read the variant rules in detail you will note that "Baleares" is a single space - which can be occupied by fleet or army. An army would have to be convoyed onto and off it, like an island. Its kinda like Byzantium, in that it is a single space that exists as both land and water. You could probably think of it like a sea space with a Supply Centre in it. |
14 May 12 UTC | Spring, 2: Hello all, any chance of finding out who's playing Egypt? I had thought it to be Andrew Kalnins but am unsure. |
14 May 12 UTC | Spring, 2: I thought it was Andrew - its certainly not Craig Thacker, and its not me, despite having had the password (hope its been changed?) |
14 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 2: Wow... Theres some movement! |
14 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 2: I would hate one player to be controlling two positions. |
14 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 2: Are you suggesting it's happening? Only person it could be is me, controlling Greece and Egypt, because I got Thax's password. But you've all seem the email traffic to Andrew. |
15 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 2: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Diplomacy/Rules - if youre feeling a lil lost. Naturally its for the traditional 7-player board |
15 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 2: It would appear that Egypt has collapsed into disorder. Does this mean that every turn until we eliminate Egypt is going to be the full 36hrs? |
15 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 2: ie. we now wait 36hrs as Egypt is the only one with a retreat order? |
15 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 2: Seems that way. That's a bit disappointing considering the fact Egypt was subbed in anyway!! |
17 May 12 UTC | Autumn, 3: Green tick |
