01 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: mmm, what to say about Spring 1901, perhaps the most unusual England opening I've ever seen ?
01 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: It's like a work of art ........
01 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: I did see a London Edinburgh bounce in the Noth Sea last week, that was on a par with this. If England go on to win you can bet this will be my New England opening
01 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: Un f-believable. Must have consulted Richard Sharp's "The Game of Diplomacy" to find that opening. France and Germany could only have dreamt of it. It was like Inception - they took England in to a 3 layer dream and suggested that YOR was a bad place ;-)
01 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: :-)
04 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 1902: About 50% of the time I enter orders from my iphone I f' it up. This would be one of those.
15 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1904: Now I know we had a cheater in the game I can't focus, it's caused some pychological damage. He was right next to me ...... I'm the victim here and my shrink is away this week in Barbados, come to think of it so is my wife !!
26 Mar 12 UTC Nearly finished, well done Russia

Thanks to all the players from France, Italy, Germany, Turkey for this fantastic and exciting Game. It was a good Game and all of you played it in a great spirit of good Diplomacy - I thank you for that.

From the outset I knew I would clash with Austria because he disputed that I could own RUM. Therefore I worked hard to ensure that I built alliance with both Turkey and Italy. Italy & myself aligned straight away to smash into the North of Austria, and with Turkey - even better, we both managed to stay out of BLA in Spring 1901!
After Austria was neutralised and we held the North, I felt there was too much tension for Russia to be allied with both Italy & Turkey, so I had to choose one or the other. I picked to partner with Italy.

Turkey - what a top Player - despite being hemmed in and surrounded by RI joint operations - just doggedly defended.

England made a completely hilarious opening, self-standing off his own Units in YOR.
In the North I had allied with Germany against England. Fortuitously for myself - Germany had been warring with France and was totally stretched out across a Western front. Made it easy for Russia to build F STP(SC) and then I just marched in and stole DEN, BER & KIE in quick succession.

I flipped back to Turkey in the South as my main Alliance partner and turned the stab on to Italy. It was a hopeless stab and I didn't achieve any gains. At the point I swtiched, Italy & myself broke our alliance simultaneously - Italy had been capably briefed by Turkey!! I'd decided that if I was to have enough SC's to win, I'd need all the Austrian SC's held by Italy. I felt I had the weight of Armies to cruch west from GAL/RUM, and I managed to pull that off - with the help of quite powerful Naval harrassment by Turkey in the South. Turkey proved to be as assiduous in attack as he had been in defence.

I must make mention of two special players here. France was awesome in the North and mounted an excellent attack against me in the NTH and into Germany, held me back for a very long time. I felt though that France, you might have achieved greater if you moved quickly to suggest a negotiated settlement with me in the NTH, and then deployed some units to the South to support Italy against the RT attack.
As it was - France & myself engaged in a Naval arms race and there were a few massive exchanges of NTH that involved 9 or 10 unit actions. Amazing - thats about 30% of the Military power on the Board tied up in one outcome!

Turkey was a great player - and quite funny to boot. A good alliance partner and played me true all the way to the end, even though I'd stabbed earlier on. Thanks Turkey - it was good fun.

Regards, Tsar Damo - one fictional ruler of Russia.
26 Mar 12 UTC I can't argue with most of Russia's analysis. I was too late to recognize the jugger alliance and should have helped Italy more and sooner. Italy had rebuffed my early-game suggestion to ally against Russia, and by the time Russia flopped alliance to Turkey I had a hard time sympathizing with Italy - I was thinking "I told you so" when I should have been helping him more. But those clashes with Russia in the north were epic! Yes, Turkey was loyal to the end - willing to let his partner solo rather than force a draw, which of course I found frustrating! But Russia could have solo'ed much earlier if he had been willing to "harvest" Turkey as soon as Italy was fatally crippled.

Very interesting game!
