04 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: i missed the turn! Sorry guys...
04 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: Most people, when they miss a turn, have the decency not to move their units and take other people's supply centres :p
04 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: Well played Russia, by the way. Always good to see someone fighting to the very end :)
04 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: I meant that i didnt change my moves to the desired ones
05 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: I was a bit distracted with the fair/free elections underway in my country, but now it's moot since we've been occupied! Good game all - certainly not my finest work as Russia, tried a strategy that very quickly failed. :) More in post-game if we have a forum thread.
05 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: Gg
06 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1905: yes, gg to all!
10 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1906: Shit. There have been power outrages here all day, apologies all.
10 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1906: well i will save instead of readying so i will give you more time, that is ok for you?

we can also draw, and end this game :P
10 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1906: Plenty off life in the game yet :). Besides, I've always considered unnecessary five way draws to be almost insulting to those eliminated early. It makes it less of a game of Diplomacy and more a friendly chat. For the honor of us all, we play on!
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: Come on Italy and Austria. Lets have the draw. If not I will have to ask for a week pause I'm gong to be gone spring break and not able to check this.
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: then is better to draw right now...come on austria, italy lets draw
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: Can we at least eliminate England?
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: I have to agree with Austria. A five way in this position is a really poor way of ending the game. I really don't mind the pause if France is leaving sharpish
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: Can we at least eliminate Austria?
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: +1 England :p

But seriously, I think all games should be played until they reach a natural conclusion. Cutting them short always leaves a nasty taste in the mouth, especially as we've (and I'm including all seven of us in this) invested so much time in the game already.
24 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: I tend to fight on to the bitter end - I also tend to click "Draw" when I'm about to die, in the feint hopes of at least raising a smile.

I'll leave my Draw vote up there and if everybody else wants to draw then fair enough.
25 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: Has somebody asked for a Pause?
25 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: France has.

France, I'm happy to vote (as you can see, I already have), but I would appreciate a set end date if possible. I doubt we'll see any poor sportsmanship in the Masters, but it's always good to have a time at which we can call a mod in to save our asses if somebody decides that he/she doesn't want to unpause.
25 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: Oh, right. I'm paused.
25 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: Pauses can't last more than a week, so you're good there.
26 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1908: ok, now that the orders have been entered i will pause immediately after the phase pass...so we lose less time :)
26 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 1909: I've voted Unpause.
29 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 1909: Eh, we ended up not going anywhere. Unpause. Sorry for the delay.
29 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 1909: i will need the pause until Monday...i will unpause then..sorry fro the delay
30 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 1909: Fine fine. Then we both use our pause time up and no over week!
06 Apr 12 UTC Autumn, 1909: Well played, England. An example to us all :)
06 Apr 12 UTC Autumn, 1909: Good game, England.
06 Apr 12 UTC Autumn, 1909: Thanks. I've been living on borrowed time for a while. I still think we should have eliminated Austria though. ;-)
06 Apr 12 UTC Autumn, 1909: Would you be content with the elimination of France, Germany, and Italy instead?

34 center victory, here I come.
06 Apr 12 UTC Autumn, 1909: If all of Italy's units went home, they'd win the game on the stops they made. =P
06 Apr 12 UTC Autumn, 1909: Nope, they wouldn't need to go through Munich, and I think that France is about to start making it hard for them to get home at all.
07 Apr 12 UTC Autumn, 1909: Gg england!
07 Apr 12 UTC Autumn, 1909: Adeau, adeau, a valiant effort England. A pity to see you out of this.
08 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: Thanks guys. This was a good game.
08 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: Thanks to you!!
09 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: Hey everyone. Lets all have a draw here.
09 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: very smart idea! Italy you are blocked in the north...if you don't want the draw where are you going now? against Austria, against France?
09 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: Very well done, Germany.

Not so long ago Germany was quite confident of a solo and convinced he had us all wrapped round his little finger. Then we got wise to him and started to beat him back. Did Germany give up on his solo ambitions then? Not at all. Instead he focused his efforts on encouraging me to stab Austria so he could pick up a solo from the wreckage.

After a while it became clear thia wasn't going to happen, so he subtlely changed his focus from actually wanting me to stab to just trying to stoke the fear of a stab to force a four way. He had some success in this, but not enough.

His latest tactic, in addition to continuing with the above, is to try and convince myself and Austria that France is an inferior player unworthy of a draw. This is nonsense, of course, and I doubt Germany believes it, but again it met with some success.

All this time Germany has been using every chance he can to promote the draw and his general reasonableness (is that a word?) on global.

In short we are witnessing a master-class in the act of manipulation and survival from Germany. He is truly one of the best players. But it is damned important that every now and then the best take a beating! We have that chance :)

Who is with me?
09 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: Please Italy stop saying nonsense...my vote is in, so tell me how i can want a solo when the draw can be achieved whenever you want? It seems that the one who wants the solo is you, that is why you are the only who don't vote draw :)

Btw just for the record, Austria and France stabbed me, ans that also indicates that my way was the draw, not as yours...all the time convincing me to leave all the east to you so you could get the solo and i could not be defeated

In any case, well done Italy, almost all the board believe in your good will...really well done!
09 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: Besides, France would have to concentrate too much naval power back to the north in order to remove Germany from the Isle, leaving Italy with a clear path to sweep Austria and take the win.
09 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: well that is the italian plan...but it seems that nobody realizes of it...well the game is like that, right?
09 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: Lol!

You really are very good :)
09 Apr 12 UTC Spring, 1910: And you say that? You are the master!
09 Apr 12 UTC Sigh... Or we could just all kill France after all :(
10 Apr 12 UTC And what does Austria do whilst you make gains on France? Hope you don't gain enough to make a stab give you the win?
10 Apr 12 UTC Just 4 way and save us all the time.
10 Apr 12 UTC Well, Turkish voice from the grave / Free Syrian Independence Front, he could march through Germany and make gains in the north of France. There are several exciting possibilities, none of which will be decided upon until I've spoken to Austria.
11 Apr 12 UTC Good game, all :). I was going to write some sort of detailed EoG statement, but I think in the circumstances I'll change it to this:

You again?!?!?
11 Apr 12 UTC Good game everyone.
