10 Dec 23 UTC In classic diplomacy. If Russia does well in the north AT can't eliminate them, if they do well in the south, EG can't eliminate them. In this mode it seems Italy is just born like that without actually needing to perform well to achieve it. As even if this was a press game, I don't believe a coalition of any two powers could defeat them. So why in a gunboat game is literally no one trying to attack Italy when they are so strong. I hardly even border Italy and I tried to contain them and Egypt straight up wants to support Tunis resulting in me having to consider them as an enemy as well.
10 Dec 23 UTC When my neighbors all tried to crush me for being their janitor and trying to contain Italy. I decided to just give Italy the bulk of my centers and watch them all lose to the juggernaut that they not only let survive, but helped grow into the beast it was.
10 Dec 23 UTC Good game everyone.
Personally, I opted not to go for Italy until it was too late because then I would have lost to Ukraine. Of course, I was expecting support into Morocco that never appeared...
Well played.
10 Dec 23 UTC Yeah, one of those situations where everyone hoped that someone else would stop Italy. Never felt strong enough to take him on, so I was content to maintain the peace. Once his eastern neighbors collapsed, it was too late.

Apologies to Britain for uselessly sniping at you for so long. You were one of the only folks willing to fight Italy.
10 Dec 23 UTC For a while Italy was the only neighbour I wasn't fighting, and I ended up trusting him too much. When he turned against me there wasn't much I could do!
Italy, you picked the perfect time to turn around and stab me. Well played!
Egypt, I think this is a classic example where we'd have been working together against Italy if we had the ability to talk to each other, but couldn't figure it out in gunboat!

10 Dec 23 UTC Gg y’all, I took over the disorder and tried my best to make some gains. Alas
11 Dec 23 UTC Good game everyone.
I totally agree with France. This was one of this games where everyone probably could see what was coming but no one had a good possibilty to stop it. Actually when I stabbed Ukraine I thought it was a "now or never" decision. If I had waited another one or two years probably Ukraine finally eliminated Poland and Russia and is the only one who could have tried to solo win the game.
I couldn´t anticipate all consequences but I was quite confident Egypt would be happy to help him against Ukraine so I had no fear he could stab me. Also France wasn´t a danger to me all the game. The previous English player and Germany keep him busy and without a fleet in the Mediterranean an attack would have been very difficult.
