07 Dec 11 UTC | Greetings to all Leaders, First of all, I want to say thank you to the Gamemaster for setting up the game and managing it. I played Diplomacy for many years, back when, but this was my first game on this site. Congratulations to all who stuck thru to the end, as sometimes it can be easy to quit after being behind. It's a shame the former Roman Emperor had to leave (which obviously helped me a great deal), but I'm grateful that the others stuck it out. At the beginning, I formed a DMZ with Rome in Sarmatia, Illyria and Epirus. If either of us were to enter that area, it would constitute an act of war. He moved into Illyria in Autumn, '06, and that told me to head that way. I didn't know he would leave the game, thereafter, though. As Persia was fending off Egypt, Egypt was also in a stalemate with Carthage in the south. I sent a note to Egypt, telling him that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", and we formed a good partnership until the end. It was only in the last year, when I was close to finishing did I take a couple of his units. Thanks, again to all players & hope to see you again! - Greek Emperor aka "CrazyCanuck" |
