15 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1: So, I just have to make two comments about the setup of this game.
1. This is just a personal issue. I didn't realize this was 18 hours/phase when I joined so I may not be able to commit as much as I should to this game.
2. This is a more general issue. This game was created with both Public Messaging only and non-anonymous players. We could play, but that leads to the possible abuse of the private messaging system to arrange alliances outside of the game play, meta-gaming. Again, I didn't notice this when I joined, so I apologize, but I would much rather cancel this game or play a 5-way draw than actually play it out. I'd love to play you all again in public press game with anonymous players, but it'd lead to too much temptation to play this way.

You can all ignore or accept what I say, these are just two points I wanted to raise.
15 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1: Now, on to a bit of game play.
Carthage, do you have any strong objection to my taking Leptis? I really believe that we can work well together and don't need to fight, but I would like that territory if you don't mind.
Persia, I believe that we can come to some sort of agreement on the territories we are likely to dispute. I won't dispute Tyre if you don't dispute Petra and if you want Cyprus, I insist on Jerusalem. Alternatively, if you insist on Jerusalem, I will need Cyprus and I'm sure you don't want a fleet sitting off your coast.
Greece, we have some naval issues to resolve. I will make no claim on Crete, but I insist on Egyptian Sea being recognized as my sovereign territory. This goes to ALL, especially Greece and Persia.
Rome, we really can't discuss much right now, but if things work out for us working together, we will have much to discuss.
15 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1: Rome, having played a bit of Med, I think that if we get caught up fighting each other then Carthage will dominate the west at your expense.
15 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1: Greece, I am very open to keeping our border DMZ. Sarmatia, Illyria, Epirus, and Ionian are all good to leave empty.
Carthage, I hope we can fairly split up the Western Med SC's. What seems to be a fair distribution to you?
15 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1: Egypt, I will give you Jerusalem and Petra while I take Tyre and Cyprus. I ask you leave one unit in Jerusalem and I will leave one unit in Tyre
15 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 1: Sounds good to me Persia.
15 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1: Carthage, you did not respond to my message and have moved in a way which could easily be labeled aggressive. I would encourage you to use more diplomatic tactics in the future, but in the meantime, this is satisfactory. I would highly encourage Phazania to move to Leptis and I believe that making Marmarica and Bayuda DMZ is in both our interests. However, be aware that any further moves to Sahara or Phazania will be considered aggresive as well.

Greece, I would greatly appreciate it if you could at least acknowledge my previous message to you.
15 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1: Carthage, please forgive my attempted move to Leptis. With no message suggesting your intent it was in my best interests to bounce.

Greece and Persia, I would like you to acknowledge Egyptian sovereignty of the Egyptian Sea. Please confirm.
15 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1: Consider it confirmed. I look forward to peace and cooperation between our two nations.
16 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1: Thanks Greece. Now, if Carthage could at least acknowledge the message I addressed towards him and if Persia could acknowledge my sovereignty of the Egyptian Sea, that would be perfect.
16 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1: Egypt, I assumed that was understood between us with me taking Cyprus. I will not move into the Egyptian Sea as it is your territory
16 Nov 11 UTC Autumn, 1: OK. Thanks.
16 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 2: Persia, are you willing to make Arabia and Syrian Sea DMZ?
16 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 2: Sure. What are your plans for Egyptian Sea? if you are going to have a unit there, I will keep a unit in Cyprus
16 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 2: It seems as though Carthage is not the talkative type.
16 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 2: His armies lead me to believe he's headed towards Egypt.
16 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 2: That is the sense I get as well.
16 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 2: I don't intend to put a fleet in Egyptian Sea, I just want it recognized that I can go there without permission from either Persia or Greece.
I am also suspicious of Carthage's intentions. Rome, do your fleets suggest that you will be moving towards him?
16 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 2: Yes Egypt, I feel that Rome's best bet is to jump on Carthage immediately. That is my plan.
16 Nov 11 UTC Spring, 2: Awesome.
