19 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 6: well this is balls. wtf do I do now, eh? |
19 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 6: you guys friends or something? |
20 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 6: I'll assume your silence gives assent. Fair enough, but I'd suggest that next time perhaps you at least *pretend* to fight each other. The rules state (something like) you shouldn't ally with someone in-game for anything other than in-game reasons i.e. being friends IRL, because it basically ruins the game for others and throws it out of whack. It's gamey. Peace. |
20 Sep 11 UTC | Autumn, 6: The fact that you can turn silence into an agreement amazes me. The Rome - Carthage alliance is a pretty standard combination and the equivalent of 'The Juggernaut' in standard diplomacy. However you are correct in assuming we are friends in real life, but I am also friends with 'holycrapatank' and I had no qualms with attacking him. Had you been Carthage and willing to form a pact similar to this I would have no hesitation in accepting for my in-game benefit and proceeding in a way similar to that shown below. I see no reason to abandon my in-game ally of Carthage when I can secure victory through an alliance. Thus I can only conclude that you are bitter about not taking the opportunity to secure a fruitful alliance with your neighbour, as I have done, and are now annoyed that your chances of victory are slim and are taking out your anger on the current leaders. |
20 Sep 11 UTC | Autumn, 6: Fair enough, although I wasn't so much saying that it was unfair in terms of strict gameplay, just that you could at least pretend so as to minimise the likelihood of people getting frustrated with the game because they see you giving each other unusually massive free passes, especially in the endgame. In other words, put yourself in other people's shoes. It's hard not to sound like a twat on text chat, I'm just giving you a not-unfriendly nudge (not unlike one I received myself when playing with a mixture of friends and non-friends and the latter got annoyed). That's all. :) |
