Spring, 1: Greetings to all! It is, I: the Carthaginian Sufet, Hannibal. The great and prosperous nation of Carthage is looking forward to many years of strong relationships and trade between our magnificent empires! |

Spring, 1: PS. Carthage as we see it did not exist in year 1 AD, so I’m going with Hannibal as I think that’s the time period we’re looking at here? |

Spring, 1: Hail, fellow great powers! As Persia, the FIRST great power, I am eager to cooperate with you to show you what I have learned these past 450. |

Autumn, 1: Nothing shocking there. Everyone is well on their way towards 6 centers to start year 2. |

Autumn, 1: Well its going to be a relatively peaceful first year! |

Autumn, 1: Peaceful year? Heck, I’ll ensure centuries of peace once I establish the Pax Romana! |

Autumn, 1: No newspapers this time guys, they didn't exist back then. Lol |

Autumn, 1: Although the creator of this variant did specify this is the year 1AD. Can you guys double check my homework: Carthage didn't exist any more as a nation state at that time? |

Autumn, 1: Yeah, Carthage died at the end of the third Punic war in 146 BC (Carthago Delende Est!). Really the game start is closer to 250 BC, but they chose 1 AD to be similar to the normal scenario where the game starts in 1901 (always convenient to know how many turns the game has lasted) and so that you always add 1 year instead of always subtract 1 year. |

Autumn, 1: Extra 50 years helps Roman Republic consolidate Italy, but nothing past that yet. Note that assuming 250 start date Greece/Persia/Egypt are actually all Alexander the Great Hellenic successor states, rather than ruled by natives. |

Autumn, 1: Agreed. My research basically told me that Persia was the first great power starting in 550 bc, but that it was conquered by Alexander the great and thus ended about 200 years later. Long before 1 ad. |

Autumn, 2: The Carthaginians have lost their bite! Giving Egypt free entry into Leptis! |

Autumn, 2: Says the country boldly moving towards Dalmatia while rome inexplicably flees it?! |

Autumn, 2: Is it not honorable and brave of the fearless Hannibal to have successfully predicted and stifled the Roman and Greek plans with the support of the fearless middle eastern powers?? |
01 May 23 UTC |
Autumn, 2: Do not act as though Rome is blundering by giving away Dalmatia! He will be stuck with no builds this year while I will still get a build even though I give away Leptis! Which blunder is worse?? |

Autumn, 2: The hubris of this Carthaginian pretender is laughable. He should go back to under his thatched roofs, where the brats roll on the floor with the dogs, and leave world events to greater men! |

Autumn, 2: Dangit that stupid misclick got me so bad |
