25 May 23 UTC GG all! Fun game, thanks Texas for sticking with me to the end!
25 May 23 UTC Thanks to you and to all. Honestly I had hoped we could defeat Peru for a 2 way draw but their defense line was very solid
25 May 23 UTC GG everyone
25 May 23 UTC I would've loved to knock out Peru too but I was worried you'd snag the solo, not the 2-way, and didn't want that. Plus this was my last game I needed to finish up before my summer diplo break so it was convenient to draw.
25 May 23 UTC Ahahah ok that's a good reason
25 May 23 UTC I probably didn't stand a chance against the two of you or even one of you. thanks for the draw!

25 May 23 UTC And apologies to New York, Quebec, and Florida for stabbing all three of you, kind of at the same time. Especially to Florida. I always have a strange affinity to the Florida player in this variant. Hurt to stab you. But to be fair Texas was huge and for a while there I wouldn't've been able to stand my ground if they stabbed me. Closer to the end though I began to catch up. I was especially concerned that my home centers were on the border, so I'd be collapsing quickly if there was a war, with little to no chance of recovery. Disbands would be fatal in that type of war.
25 May 23 UTC This variant has the strange rule that you need 34 SCs out of 58 to win, so I tend to consider the possibility of a two way draw much more than in standard Dip or other variants

25 May 23 UTC So it was rather natural for me to focus on my neighbours and let HL focus on theirs. Unfortunately Peru wasn't a neighbour of either :D
25 May 23 UTC I made the mistake of thinking Quebec was coming for me after we took out New York because of that fleet down south. Had I focused on Heartland maybe things would have been different :)
25 May 23 UTC GG all
25 May 23 UTC @Florida yes, there was a moment when I could not say if it was you or Heartland
25 May 23 UTC I meant, if it was you or Heartland who was going to dominate the east side of the board
