25 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1903: Be careful. The zombies are here.
31 May 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: Why don't people finalize?
05 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Goodbye France, much luck to you in your other games.
05 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Thanks. To you as well.
07 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1906: I hate to be "that 3 SC country" but I dont think I will be in town starting on Wed-Sun. I may have internet access, but I am really unsure. Could we get a pause please?
07 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1906: I generallly don't vote pauses, never ask for them, because of the problem with not beingn able to unpause. How longg will you be gone, when will you leave, when will you be back? not to be nasty, just some bad experiences. IT is a 36 hour game, so you can delay as much as possible and probably never miss a game. I'm willing to do that if you need that. Just don't like pauses.
08 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1906: It is a long enough notice, so I will vote pause if it will be needed.
08 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1906: It is a long enough notice, so I will vote pause if it will be needed.
08 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: I understand your hatred for pauses, same reasons as mine; but I can guarantee you that I will be online ready to play again within a few hours of arriving home

I'm going to be gone starting 9 am (central USA time) and I will be back late Sunday Night/early Monday morning
I am attending Bonnaroo (a music fest in Tennessee)... I just got a new smart phone so I might be able to log on - in which case I will lift the pause
But this thing is literary in the middle of nowhere, so I'm not getting my hopes up

I hate small country pauses too, but I wouldn't ask for it if this game didn't hold the high level of competition that it does. I would appreciate it much if you guys did pause, but its not like i will be infuriated if you didn't
08 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: I've voted pause. I suggest everybody else vote pause, except Turkey.

Turkey, when you are about to leave to Bonnaroo, click pause. This way the pause will be as short as possible. Besides that, enjoy! :)
08 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: I will, although I will leave my pause on because I don't think it will be likely that everyone else will pause by then. Thanks!
08 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: I am myself on vacation with limited internet access and back on Sunday
Then I fine of course to pause the game for a short period of time
08 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: pause can start Saturday Morning?
08 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: no, starting today. I will grant the pause. i always wonder why people join games if they have plans that will interfear.
08 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: 21 hours to move. Puts us Thursday afternoon. then 36 hours for retreat. Assuming Turkey has no retreat and someone else does, then that buys 36 hours more. So we are Mid Saturday. Builds take us to Sunday night, assuming Turkey has none. We don't need the pause. We can delay the game without it. If he comes back Sunday night, he'll be exactly where he would have been. if he has a retreat tomorrow afternoon, then we can pause.
09 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: I paused. Now we all should unpause so Tur can start the game when he's back.
12 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Russia, you can unpause any time so we can restart as soon as turrkey unpauses.
13 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: So I hope Turkey is alright. I guess that unpause at midnight when he gets back was just a metphor for whenever I get around to it?
13 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: So, Turkey said he'd be back 12 hours ago? I regret the pause.
13 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Not a man of his word ...
13 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: If he doesn t show up , what happens ?
13 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Give him a little slack. I am not happy about it too, but possibly something happened - and the man is only 12 hours late after a vacation.
13 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: I gave him slack by pausing. I don't and won't again because of this. He wrote he would unapuse at midnight or whenever he got back. I see that was bullshit. Not up to Italy to make up stories for him, up to him to do what he said he would do.
13 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: No, pausing is something a gentleman who plays Diplomacy would do - it is not "giving a slack".

We will wait 24 hours and if it doesn't work, contact a mod and find a replacement.
13 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Give me a break. Pausing is not a requirement, nor is it anything one should expect. It is what one receives if all the other players agree. It generallly reflects bad planning and poor play. Gentlemen don't start games they can't finish. Either don't go or don't start the game or figure out how to get a sitter or fiind internet at least once every 24 hours. What turkey has done is bullshit.
14 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: I wonder if Turkey did this just so he wouldn't have a loss?
14 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Chill out England, I'm back
Traffic ended up becoming ridiculous. We we in a stand still for 2 hours before we even hit the Interstate

Unpause is in, lets play
14 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: So Turkey, how do you explain the other 15 hours?
14 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: you still didn't unpause, Turkey. You do know how to do it don't you? This is why I don't pause.
14 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Gentlemen, and turkey, it's late and a long day. I'm hoping Turkey will figure out how to unpauser by tomrrow morning. You still think I'm being harsh, Italy?
14 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Seriously England, smoke a joint or something. You need to chill out. I tried doing it through my phone but it didn't go through.
14 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: Gee turkey, grow up and do what you say you're going to do.
14 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1907: You have to realize that not everything always goes according to plan and sometimes you just have to have a little bit of patience. Bitching about it on Global chat doesn't make the ride home any shorter
22 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1908: And this is the exact reason why I hate PPSC. Every time I give it a chance, I realize how screwed up this type of game is.
25 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Hi for all the gamers!
I am dead (I only wait one more year of live at the game...), but if we take a sight to the map, we can see that the austrian is going for a solo. The only way to stop him is an alliance going for a final draw between england-german-italy, and the moment is NOW, when we can do a front line to stop the austrian armies at st.peters-berlin-munich- marseilles-tunis. Think about it, and, for italy and germany, think about who will be the nextone to be attacked by the austrian armies of the centre of europe...
27 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1909: Great speech.

It's amazing how the dynamics here are very different from WTA, how Austria managed to recruit not 1, not 2, but 3! vassals.

Frankly, I am impressed.
27 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1909: I would rather play PPSC than WTA as I think it replicates the real world where there is more than first and then all the rest. I always find it a perversion of the game when a group of people who couldn't work together before suddenly decide to stop someone who has played better. aus has done a wonderful job., Of course, the real toady, if you are picking toadies, was Italy who chose to leave his rear open until he was unstoppable and then was completely out of position to do anything. Great game Austria.
27 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1909: You might be right. I am too used to WTA, and didn't realize that this is a totally different type of game. In WTA Austria would not stab, probably.
27 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1909: why not? In wta, he get's what he needs without regard for anyone else. He would likely have moved earlier. I would have. I think you are lucky it's ppsc.
30 Jun 11 UTC Nice game to all of you, but especially great game to Austria! Don't know that we have played before.
