18 Jan 23 UTC | Gg all - was actually very keen to try a two person draw with Quebec but then got greedy after that disband |
18 Jan 23 UTC | Good game, thanks for playing all. It was my first game in this variant, so I didn’t know what to do. I researched some finished games for openings and just tried my best. I’m glad I was able to stop Florida’s first stab and California and I were able to stop our fight. I get the sense that Mexico tends to do well in the early game, but then quickly gets stretched in the mid game, but maybe that’s because of how I played the game. I also think I built too many fleets (and often on the wrong side :). Happy with the draw, happy to get any feedback or advice. Thanks again everyone. |
19 Jan 23 UTC | Great game, everyone. I'm very glad we were able to come together to stop Florida. I probably would've had to stab Florida pretty soon if Florida made any more progress against Mexico. I was just so angry with California for the pointless stab in Autumn 2006. Among the hardest things in Diplomacy is to recognize something that happens slowly: in this case, Florida becoming too powerful. |

19 Jan 23 UTC | And Florida- thanks for being a great ally until that stab at the end. |
19 Jan 23 UTC | Quebec, I interpreted the lack of border tension between you and Florida in 2005/2006 as a sign that we were not destined to be friends. |
