BC's EoG report:
Starting off, I figured I had no choice but to go for Cali. An Arctic attack would be long and easily countered. Especially noting the fact that in a game where I was Cali, I got thumped despite my best efforts. So my opening would be incredibly anti-Cali. After 1999, I was in a good position, although it may not have seemed that way.
I took Oregon, and with a nice stab by Mexico to Arizona, I knew I'd win quickly. After Spring 2002, With LA and Ari about to fall, I went for Colorado and San Diego too. A four build turn! Now, ordinarily, I would not like to be fighting three players at once, but this time, I went for it. My hope was to now waltz through Mexico and Texas, who had just finished a chaotic war, and then walk down Central America and through Peru. I had fleets and armies converging, and I thought I had punched my ticket to my first-ever FAE4 solo win.
Spring 2005 brought new developments. With a quick analysis of the board, I realized I was stalemated with Peru in the water, and would struggle to gain ground in Mexico without it. My new plan was to befriend Peru, finish Mexico and Texas, and then with that maybe turn on Heartland, although I was in no rush to do that.
In Spring 2006 I lost Potosi to Peru. I hoped now they would peace out, but this would be the end for me.
Autumn 2007 would be the height of my power. I got stabbed by Heartland, and with my North undefended, I was doomed.
Through 2014 I was mercilessly pushed back to 3 centers and California. I was crushed, literally and mentally. My best game yet was ruined. But for some reason, with Heartland's support holds, I made it out! Not sure how Florida did though.
