06 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 10: Generally you collude against the power that's going to get the solo win, not with it. |
07 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 10: Unless of course turning against that power brings about your own destruction. |
07 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 10: I disagree - thus far, I've been waging a fairly successful war against Greece. Any territorial losses I suffer to you can be made up by my gains from Greece, with the end result being you getting a solo win with 18 SCs, me hovering around 12, and Greece losing most of its territory. Up until about last turn, you couldn't have mounted a successful campaign against Greece while simultaneously fighting me - you'd have to spread your forces too thinly to do so, resulting in losses on both fronts. I, however, am still quite capable of pursuing a war against Greece, even as a fight a losing one against you. It would therefore have been in Greece's interest to work with Egypt rather than Rome, even if doing so gave me the solo victory, as Greece would have finished the game with more SCs (and thus won more points.) |
07 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 10: It would appear to me that even though your war has, thus far, been successful, your fronts are essentially becoming choked, with Greece looking to make minor gains. If Greece plays their cards right they could very well still end up second overall. Otherwise, your point is quite valid. |
